who would win in a battle the hulk or the thing?

Personally I would say the hulk he is stronger and faster and he can insantly heal himself and the more he gets mad the bigger he gets and for another thing the thing could be simply thrown in the ocean.

The Thing is The Thing all the time. Banner has to get angry to be the Hulk.

Thing would simply tear Banner's arms out in a surprise attack.

I disagree banner could simply turn into the hulk and heal or run since he is faster than the thing.

The Thing is a more nimble and in general a much better fighter than either Mr. Fixit or the original Green Hulk. But that being said, I'm just not sure that Thing could inflict enough damage to really hurt the Hulk in any incarnation. He's not as strong, he's not a durable, and he doesn't regenerate. It's impossible to wear the Hulk down, so attrition isn't going to work. I just don't see how Ben Grimm could handle the Hulk in a fight.

He smashs slightly more bad stuff than good stuff, so he's in the hero section.

Swamp Thing. It doesn't matter if you tear him into little pieces. Some moisture, sunlight, maybe some dirt, and he regrows. Plus Swamp Thing has faced some pretty bad-ass monsters in his time and come out on top.

I'm going with The Hulk.

the hulk would definitly win. he is in the 100 class range, meaning that he can bench press over 100 tons, while the Thing is only (not exacly sure) about 40 at most.

Isn't the question really more between The Hulk and Bizarro #1? Not only would the fight itself be delightful, but the interlaced conversation would be enough for most any mild intellectual to put down the comic, take a DEEP breath, and remember that Bizarro always lies, but Hulk is just a grammatical idiot.

Chuck Norris was funny at first because as most know, he is the worst action film actor to ever curse the screen. By now, joking about him is about as fresh as Michael Jackson cracks.

Some people really, really need to get some new material.
It's about as comical as someone breaking into a "BADGER BADGER BADGER" routine.

Ok for starters the Hulk isn't even a real superhero. He just smashes everything good or bad... Now if Banner happens to get upset around bad things then the Hulk smashes the bad things. So Banner is the hero... not The Hulk. If Banner were evil and good things made him angry then the Hulk would smash all the good things around. And in the Avengers Banner got angry w/someone for stealing his woman and he let the Hulk go on a rampage.

Second thing, The Thing would win if surprised Banner and snapped his neck... while the Hulk has regenerative ability, it only applies if he is still alive. But in a battle between The Hulk and The Thing... Hulk sadly would win because Ben Grimm can't take the damage or give it out on the same level as The Hulk.

Colossus would kick both their asses.

Ok, here is the low-down. They have had over a dozen fights in the comics, and the Thing has never won. In fact, this is one of teh most classic fights in Marvel, right up there with Wolvie and the Hulk.

Thing-Street Smart, fights dirty and is an amazing wrestler.
Can lift in a bench press about 80 tons, according to all the Marvel Who's Who and the Marvle Role-Playing Game.
Has body armour, strong enough so that Spider Man couldn't hurt him, but can absorb less than half of Hulk's full strength punch at Hulk's weakest level.

Original Green No-Brain Hulk-Has to get mad to turn into Hulk, at the outset can lift 100 tons and has a combination of body armour and regeneration that absorbs the equivelent of the hardest punch that the Thing can throw instantly. Totally dumb. Gets stronger as he gets madder. At his peak, can lifet almost 500 tons. In these fights, the Thing usually just keeps him busy and hits him with things like a bus until Reed can figure out how to stop him.

Gray Hulk-Bad attitude, turns into him at night-Not as strong, can only lift 80 tons, though retains his healing and body armour. In this incarnation, he is just as smart as Ben and just as strong, with better body armour, still beats up Ben in the comics. Just longer, more drawn out fights, Doesn't get stronger as he gets madder.

New Green Hulk- Amalgamation of all three, the brains of Bruce Banner, bad attitude of the Grey Hulk and strength and power of the green. He shalt layeth the smacketh down upon the Thing.


I don't think that the Thing has ever won against the Hulk, but that has never been the piont. He is supposed to be the only one able to take him on mano-e-mano while everyone else regroups and figures out how to calm him down/stop him.

Right. The real question here is Hulk vs. Wolverine. Has that fight ever really been played out? The first time they fought, back when Wolverine first showed up, Hulk knocked him out when he was distracted. Only other fight I've seen was the Wolverine-Hulk Six Hours thing where they settled down and saved that kid.

the Hulk...whether he could regenerate his arms or not... and the question is not asking whether or not he's a hero... fact is, he smashes things and he would smash THE thing... that is all...

I like Ben Grimm, but the fact is, he's outclassed against the Hulk. Ben's a much better fighter, he's smarter, and he's quicker. But the Hulk's minimum strength is about even with the Thing's and he gets stronger as the battle continues, and he can take anything the Thing can dish out.

I remember one story where The Leader and some guy named Kurago were betting on who would win. Kurago was secretly beeaming cosmic rays at the Thing, nearly doubling his strength, and he STILL couldn't take down the Hulk.

Well, if not the Thing, certainly the Silver Surfer could kick the crap out of the Hulk.
