BAGHDAD, Iraq — Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari, under intense pressure to give up plans for a second term, agreed Thursday to let Shiite leaders reconsider his nomination, a step that could mark a breakthrough in the months-long effort to form a new government.

Nothing is official yet but it looks like al-Jaafari, who has been facing pressure from everyone to step down, has now given up his plans for a 2nd term.

This could jump start a formation of a new government and one can only hope, a stronger one.

You mean Iraq may finally have a government within four years of having their government toppled?

Man, the USian government and military work fast! At this rate, Iraqis may have reliable access to potable water and electricity within the decade!

Let us pray that the lord Jesus will smile upon those poor savages of ancient Babylon and make them truly thankful for the glorious gift of freedom America has bestowed upon them.

Praise him, oh yes, praise him
