Just paid the last of the morgage off! Yayy!

Now I'm busy paying off all my other bills. I estimate that I'll be free and clear of all debt of whatever sort by September! [ does a lil happy-dance ]

It's been a long, long time coming, boys and girls, and I feel as if a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders. What a great feeling! :D

Lucky man. With the average salary here about £20,000, and the average house price £184,924, it's going to be a long time before I can buy my own place. :(

Even the smallest place is beyond most budgets, at least in the most popular parts of the country (ie where the jobs are). Even a small studio flat in a not-so-nice area around London would set you back about £100,000, more than most people on an average salary can get a mortgage for. Plus, there's always the risk that you spend that much on a crappy place and *whack!* The housing market collapses and you're paying £100,000 for something now only worth £20,000. :(

Pay off all my bills, buy my ex the car I promised her, buy myself a car, then split what's left between a deposit into my grandchildren's trust fund, and a bit of travel for myself. :)

What is it?

Granted, it's small,
and not always comfortable,
and it costs me money,
and I've spent countless hours alone there,
and everything is starting to break apart,
and the walls are plastered with bad memories-
Despite all that, it's still my room.
And more than that:
It's home.

I got myself debt free in Febuary (or around there) but alas medical bills have bit me in the butt and I had to get another car, I can pay those off by August though. Then I will be in the market for a house, and will be in debt for another 15 years :(
