Most of Islam has 5 pillars.

1. Faith [in one God, Allah, and that Mohammed is His prophet];
2. Prayer [five times daily, facing Mecca];
3. Alms [charitable acts to aid the poor];
4. Fasting [during the Month of Ramadan, daily from sunrise to sunset];
5. Pilgrimage (Hajj)[once in a person's lifetime, to Mecca];

Except the so-called Islamicists and those who oppose them - including even the rabid "Islam is evil" Ann Coulter crotchlicking crowd - are in COMPLETE AGREEMENT on one thing: the 6th Pillar of Islam.

Both groups - terrorists and Coulterites - believe that Islam is fundamentally about terrorism, slaying the infidels, etc etc.

Anyone else find that just a bit odd? Here you have a majority of peaceful Muslims, fasting and praying and living a normal life. But then the radicals on supposedly opposite sides take the same extremist view about what Islam "really" is about.

That's why when there are radical clerics in Iran calling for Jihad... and then radical Americans in DC calling for nuking Iran or purging the earth of Islam... it kinda weirds me out.

It makes me think that the War on Terror is really about us normal people trying to prevent you fucking idiotic haters from nuking the world because you're insecure about your penis size.

Well...they are both extremist groups, so in that sense it's not too odd. Interestingly, they're also both conservative in their views. While not bad (conservative thinking...not senseless killing or ignorant stereotyping), this does increase the likelyhood of one group staying in the mindset of , "I'm right, you're wrong" as they usually value precedence in their thinking.

I never understand the people who rage against Islamic oppression and then try to introduce a Christian version of Sharia law in their own countries. The USA specialises in these types of people, and they are hypocrites.

We have a few of them, but I don't think they're that big a deal yet.

What I'm really trying to say is that there are people on both sides who WANT there to be a war between Islam and everyone else. They WANT jihad. They may be on opposite sides of it, but they are exactly alike in that they don't want peace, they want some sort of race/religion war. They both say the other side started it, but they both look forward to it with an eagerness that borders on masturbatory desire.

On the other hand, the peaceful, fasting, praying Muslims living a normal life pretty unanimously called for the death of Abdul Rahman when he converted to Christianity. Clerics from all around the world called, literally, for the heads of the cartoonists at Jyllands-Posten who did the Muhammad drawings. They were serious - riots happened, people died.

Now, I'm not aligning myself with Ann Coulter, because to me anything she says is so insignificant that it can be ignored. She openly proclaims that the statements she makes are just to piss people off, and I don't have time for that shit. But Jihad (no I don't mean terrorism) is something the Western world will never understand. The schism in belief is too grand.

There are about 1 billion Muslims. How many of those are required for you to proclaim them "unanimous?"
