Wow Europe may have had a Pyramid.

Europe's first pyramid?

Bosnia's leading Muslim daily Dnevni Avaz writes excitedly about "a sensational discovery" of "the first European pyramid" in the central town of Visoko, just north of Sarajevo.

Excavations at a hill site above the town have been going on for several months and initial analyses "have confirmed the original claim that this is Europe's first pyramid and a monumental building, similar in dimensions to the Egyptian pyramids."

Secondly, it's probably just a hill, it looks like to me. Or if it is a pyramid, it was modeled after the Egyptian's. Built by ancient Serbs, no doubt.

Am I right in thinking that the only tentative date anyone has attached to this construction yet is circa 600 AD? If so then it doesn't really stand up too well against Newgrange as an example of ancient engineering - it has almost 4,000 years on this structure.

I suspect the pyramids are the result of ancient egyptian stag parties where too much alcohol was consumed. On their way back from the pub they thought it'd be a laugh to quarry vast blocks of stone and then transport thousands of them for miles and miles before piling them up in a huge heap and leaving them there for someone else to clear up.

I reckon archeologists in Europe must be quite thick. At Sutton Bank in Yorkshire , England, they figured there was a little ancient earth works here, and then promptly build a glider club on the hill beside it. It took till the glider club wanted to extend plateau so they could be a bigger club. Then they discovered to be one of the oldest or largest forts(I can't remember which) in Northern Europe. I think it dates back to 500BC.
