I was looking for the one where people posted their drawings and also photographs that they took, and now they're gone. So, here are my contributions.

Photographs I took of a model for the guy who was looking for female photographers to take pictures of naked ladies in public (drew the henna designs too):

Aaaand here is a sketch I made of my friend Damian:

and here is a picture of him so you can compare likenesses:

Thanks. Anybody else miss a thread? Post here.

I love henna :D

I only heard about it for the first time the other day. A girl in my French class had some poorly done henna on her hand, and I asked her if she had been drunk with a magic marker.

Yet another teen/20something fad, it seems.

I've never used it. I have an Indian friend whose mother was covered in it on her wedding day, so it would seem to be more of a traditional thing. At least, in that context anyway...

Well-done henna is great. Mine is mediocre. BUT it makes for a nice photo I think.

Yes, they are nice pics. I especially like the one with her hand. The composition is very good :)

The girl I knew who had it was a rich, white girl from suburban Detroit, so it certainly wasn't traditional with her.

I'm not too keen on body art, but I will admit, that henna Ilie drew is well done.

Thanks...I don't love tattoos, henna is better since it's temporary.

Nope :)
Henna is a dye made from a plant. Often used in a traditional or religious (I think) contexts.

It's interesting because she seems to have a very classic, European, almost baby-faced look, which is a strange contrast to the ethnic, regal quality of Henna art. Interesting.

It's also a fad at my university.

Here's a couple of pics I took that I'm rather proud of. I'm not much of a photographer, but occaisionally I'm in the right place at the right time. I'm against the war, if anyone is wondering.

Yeah, I got tired of henna being photographed on the same type of people every time. I prefer a study in contrasts.

...thanks for noticing!

Being a Michigander I never thought the desert could be beautiful. Some parts of Iraq are just breathtaking.

I'm a drama and philosophy student who lives with and surrounds himself other artists and intellectuals. So one should hope I notice. I'd be interested to see it used on, say the slightly exposed angle of a business women. That would a very unique take.
