Farewell to the Nation States Forum

I know I’ve only been really active for a short while in the NS General Forum, but I do believe that I’m done here. After being told off by a Mod this morning for creating a copycat thread and trolling in the Technical Forum, it’s become very clear that socializing in the NS Forums puts my founder nation at risk.
Since I have been building up my region since 2002, I don’t see it a worthwhile risk that something might be interpreted as rule breaking by a Moderator and my founder state deleted. I feel that the longer I post in the Nation States Forums the more likely this might eventually happen. It wouldn’t be fair to the many Wysterians who have worked as hard or harder then myself to build the online community in my region. It’s been very nice knowing you all but I now must withdraw back to the Nation States enclave that is my own region.

Couldn't you create a new nation and use that one for the forums?

Um...You don't even have an official warning yet. Calm down. There aren't that many instant-deletion offences on the forums, you'd generally be issued a forumban [and possibly several] prior to anything of the sort.

I'm not sure you're enough of a somebody to warrant a leaving thread.
That being said, I have a special reverence for '02 nations..

Bye. You'll excuse me if I don't particularly care, since you're not actually leaving NS at all.

True ... right up to the point where some blithering idiot, usually an ideologue of some sort, posts something so obviously biased and derogatory that it generates "forum frustration."
You know what "forum frustration" is, don't ya?
Forum Frustration: when you're constrained from verbally nuking some idiot who so richly deserves it because you live in fear of the dreaded mods!

ah but you can still verbally nuke without using swear words or threats of violence, see... it takes more effort, but actually showing them the stupidity of whatever it is they're babbling about is, i would argue, much more rewarding than just calling them a dirty jew or whatever ;) :p
edit: and it's in the rules, too! :P

Why? He's not even leaving. He's just going to stop posting because he's a baby about being yelled at by the mods. He wasn't even formally warned, and he's whining about it like he's in immediate danger of deletion. It's not as though he's leaving for a legitimate reason, like Zooke did, for example.

No. Just don't make a big whiny goodbye thread when you do, unless you've got something big and whiny happening in your life that justifies it. Leaving because the mods were mean to you does not need a goodbye thread.

I tend to agree, but you need to keep in mind that what's uppermost on your mind at any given time is the most important thing to you at the time. [ WTF is that? Rhyming? Allitteration? What?? ]

Why? He's not going anywhere. If we were so inclined, we can still send him TGs. He hasn't even been warned. He's just fishing for sympathy.

Dude, that sucks. You had some of the best, most informed and well reasoned posts on this board.

I would say goodbye,
But I don't know who you were.
I would have looked for your posts,
But I didn't really care.
You made a little thread
to announce your goodbye.
I briefly scanned it,
as I ate pie.
Goodbye young man,
but I assume you'll return.
No one can stay away.
The desire to post will burn.
That being said, I have a special reverence for '02 nations..
Suddenly I feel young again...
I believe the standard response in goodbye threads is: you'll be back.
Incorrect. The correct response is "Don't bang your arse on the door on the way out".
Dude, just follow the rules. What's the big deal?
