Intellectuals can argue the merits of his policy without mindlessly attacking him.

Political correctness has nothing to do with freedom, and quite a lot to do with simple courtesy. There are those who take it to an extreme, but they're in an obnoxious minority.
Bush et al like to have thier little town meetings and such where they screen the crowds, so that only the supporters can make their voices known. Then there's the wiretaps that watch what I say on my phone. So yeah, they're anti-free speech.

Well, bush represents the venomous anti-academic and anti-intellectual movement in the US, so its natural that intellectuals (the term used loosely, not every professor is really an intellectual, or at least not a worthwhile one) and academics loathe him.
It's actually very good that professors ground their ethics and logic courses in some of the most egregious and destructive violations of those fields in public policy today.

Actually take part in discussions in Arabic rooms on Paltalk to better my spoken Arabic other than from the wifey. I find that the Bush bashing is far far less than in the media of the westren world. Many like Bush rather alot. The media would label these people Republicans in the west. I wonder if the same shoe fits in the middle east? You, sir, are suffering from dellusions. Anyone who lives under the foolish impression that America's left is at all like the far left is living in a fantasy world, or so far off to the right that all versions of left are out of perspective.
And Republicans earned the South by having less support for civil rights than the Dems.
First off FDR pumped masses into public funding to restart the US econermy, organisations like the CCC, NRA and the TVA where all vital. You live in the Tensee vally? You have electricity? Thank FDR and the TVA for that. Before he came in the Vally was a dustbowl, no electricity, people scratching out a living on regually flooded land. Roosevelt tamed the river, created electricty, brought in lesure facilitys and now the regions thriving. It cost a lot of money but within 15 years it had cancelled that debt and was in the blue.
You went to schoolk, thank the CCC for that, most schools iN America-in fact almost everything-was buiolt by the CCC. using things like the CCC and the NRA Roosevelt cut unemployment by 12 million and got the econermy back to pre-depression levels.
So there one good thing a liberal didsaved America from Facism and communism. (Hyey Long, 'The radio Prest')
Being British I know what the liberals did for us-The NHS, Pensions, The Liberal reforms, The peoples budget, the welfare state, Unions. I also know what the conservatives did for us:

Now which did better the Liberals, that introduced the reforms and helped this coutnry become a power, or the conservatives that ruined this country led by Mrs 'There is no Society' 'I know, lets ruin the coutnry' 'Civil rights, who cares about civil rights' Thatcher?
