Ok now that I have your attention.... Well as you might know..this week is good friday and easter. This means nothing to so many people, but to me and others like me, this means more than life itself. It is the celebration of the Death and Resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. He willingly got off of His throne, came to earth, lived a normal life, then was pierced, punished and killed for our sins. This man was not forced upon His cross. No, He willingly laid himself upon it. He had the authority of all of the universe, but yet He gave it up that day so long ago, so that You and I and everyone could be with Him and the Father in heaven for eternity. Now I know most people don't like to feel guilty or have some one preach to them, but this is far more than any of that. This is about the Love of God, coming down that day and washing us with the Blood of the Lamb, making us able to be with Him forever. To me, there is no greater gift than what He did that day. And when he arose the third day...well History was rewritten. No longer was there a seperation of man from God, no, there was now a bridge built across the raging river that previously seperated us. So this easter weekend, please look past the bunny and the religious events. instead look towards Christ and the Father, for giving us a gift that is everlasting.

Cheap chocolate eggs on Monday, here I come.

I'll be watching the military parade on Easter, and possibly will be holding up a sign saying "The authority of government comes from the combined will of the majority of the people, not the guns and tanks you see today."

Although something catchier would be nicer.

As for the rest of ya'll I am ashamed I guess. I honestly thought I could bring it up with out anyone being stupid, and changing the subject completly. I wanted this to be a thread for believers of Christ to come and say what they want to about Easter, and for any one that doesn't know the easter story, well it was for them to look at and maybe ask questions about. Gosh, this darn forum ticks me off sometimes.:headbang:

technically, you got what you wanted. We are saying what we want about Easter. Just because we aren't saying "OMG I luv Jezus" means nothing. Additionally, I'm pretty sure everyone knows the Easter story to some extent, and it is pretty much just a story. You said in your post that people hate being preached to, and that is what you did, so you can't truly be shocked by the reaction it has garnered.

With that said, we are forgetting a major part of the holiday...

This easter weekend is about two things:


-Getting paid time and a half when I work friday, sunday and monday.
-A girl who I've challanged to out drink her 2:1 on tequila on saturday.

Eh, all easter has is chocolate. I prefer christmas (yay toys!)...It's more pagan than christian anyways, no reason I shouldn't celebrate that. Although, the day/week after cheap chocolate is always nice. ^_^
