Meh, not so great. I keep confusing him with Sting.
I'm not sure who's who even now. Which one was in Labyrinth again?

Labyrinth was definatly David Bowie. I think the movie was pretty much all about his crotch.
Labyrinth was definatly David Bowie. I think the movie was pretty much all about his crotch. That'd explain the way he kept playing with his balls..
Those crystal ones I mean..
Good movie though. Right up there with the never ending story..
Music wise, I can't say anything comes to mind. But I've never been good at remembering which artist goes with what song (even when I'm not confusing artists)

David Bowie is a legend and a genius. And I don't just mean that in the way that it's thrown about nowadays at any band that can put two chords together, he really is a genius. He re-invented himself so many times and was still successful. The music he's still putting out is better than most other modern music, and it stands up well against his previous albums.

i really lilke him... has I V stalin says he's reinvented himself so many times, he is so versatile. the last couple of albums have been...i dunno, very emotional or something, bit of a departure from the old image of him being a dancy kind of artist. personally, i think just about every time he's tried his hand at a new genre he's been successful

He played here last summer, and was watching the football and wouldn't come out on stage until the game was over....sadly England lost and you could tell he was pissed of by how he performed. I understand from people who work at the hotel he stayed in that he was not especially nice or friendly, and being nice to people doesn't cost much.
I do like some of his music, and some i don't. I don't know about him being a genius though.....

Genius. Has redefined and pioneered so many genres and still does it from time to time. Plus he has a glass eye, how can you go wrong with that?

Say it ain't so!
I saw him years ago as the headliner of a big open air festival, and while I'm not a great fan of his, and while he was playing mostly songs of his then latest album that hardly anybody even knew, it was fantastic! He was having a blast, and it totally showed. His charisma was incredible.
So, personally, I'd have to go with awesome guy. Plus, he's rather sexy.

The guy's perennial; looking at modern music, so many personalities fade out after a year of two, and here's Bowie, still going strong after 40 years! Some of his stuff I like more than others, but overall I think the bloke's great. I would love to see him live.

He's done nothing of real note since the seventies but he turned out many quality albums in that decade.
Best one for me is Station to Station.

We're talking about the man who defined Glam Rock, Psychedelia and Jazz Rock, and who's listed as an influence by practically every rock star ever interviewed. Even if he dropped dead with nothing more than what he's already done, he'd be remembered for the next thousand years.
Most bands are forgotten after ten.

The talked to him at a few parties and according to her, he's pretty cool/nice.
As for music, not everything he's done is my cup of tea, though I love a few of his songs (Let's Dance is coming to mind right now).

Yes, though that has no bearing on him being a genius and a legend.

Just because you're bisexual, doesn't mean you have a massive sex drive. It just means there's more people you're willing to screw.

I think that genius might be going a bit far. He’s no Mozart. Pop Culture Maestro maybe, but no genius. I really like a lot of his music. He’s done well to reinvent himself to keep himself relevant to pop culture. A lot of his music isn’t really dated either. I’d say he’s one of the greats of Rock n’ Roll though.
Unlike a lot of other rockers, he hasn’t been a complete flop in acting (although I think that he’s upset that he wasn’t in the Rocky Horror Picture Show). Personally, I liked the involvement he had in the puppet adaptation of Peter and Wolf.

He's ok, I like some of his music (particularly the Ziggy Stardust era). Most of it I could quite easily take it or leave it.
Clearly his outstanding creation, and gift to humanity, is the mullet.
I think he had some great music in his time, although, he hasn't done anything in the music business recently which was absolutely wonderful. However, I do like his movie appearances, I always find them humorous.

David Bowie has a glass eye? What makes you think that? It is entirely possible that he does possess a glass eye, but he certainly doesn't wear one. His eyes are naturally just different colours. Are you sure you're not confusing him with Terri Hooley?

I was kind of unsure myself, because I remember hearing the rumour many years ago. After a quick trip to the wikipedia I found out that what actually happened is that he was in a fight and his eye got hit so badly that he lost vision and the capacity to contract his pupil. As a result it now appears green or brown depending on how the light hits it, while the blue one is his natural colour.
So, it's his natural eye, but not the natural colour.

Now that you say that it sounds very familiar. 'pologies.
He's alright. He's done quite a lot songs that are good over a long period of time.

Well, David's is the face I hope God'll choose to wear if I'm called in for a chin-wag, I'll say that much. Of course, I'd spend the entire time in a perpetual state of arousal, but I don't think God'd have any problem with that.
Bearing in mind that "my" God isn't any of the Yahweh/Jehovah/Allah variants.

Nah... *shakes head*
without David Bowie, Iggy Pop would probably be dead, Devo would still be pissing people off in Akron, and Kraftwerk would have restricted their global robot takeover to the Deutschland. in other words, there would be no punk, new wave, or electronica.
not to mention his own music, which is fabulous and massively influential in its own right.

By chance do you go to Minnesota State University and live down the hall from me?
If not, a little explanation: There is a guy on my floor who idolizes Bowie, calling him a music revolutionary. We all make fun of him.
Me? I don't much care for the guy.
