Winter: Storms, Cold & Tiny Girls

Winter has just rolled in. Which whilst it summons an end to alacarte dining, martinis at The Onyx Bar and involves my middle class, city-loving, pinko-student heart feeling obliged to donate money to The Red Cross as the lastest mix of yokels and black people are swept away in regional flooding, there is some good news.

The Winter Season is here. Winter fashion is always fun. Layers and tailoyered jackets hide the fact I haven't been working out all summer. Drinks shared around a fire with friends and lovely summer-toned girls.

Plus, as yard parties yeild way for casual dinners and pot is replaced with obscene amounts of vodka, Brisbane and my new house are ready to shine.

Kiss sweaty balls goodbye and herald in the biggest season for student parties the Western Suburbs will care to suffer.

Winter, hear I come!

Does it ever snow down in Australia? I ask because we're coming down there for 3 weeks in August.

You Aussies have everything backward. It must be because you are upside down the blood rushes to your head. It is suposed to be the start of summer. :p

You know, it sure *seems* like you did that Lent thing after all. Would explain your enthusiasm a bit better.

We're coming down for 3 whole weeks, so my guess is the whole continent, from sydney, to deserts, to jungles. the whole shebang, I think.

You're going to cover the whole thing in 3 weeks? That's pretty impressive.

I don't think you'll be going to the beach in Melbourne, in August it's only about 14-20C during the day.

Well, make sure you make it down to Melbourne, cos it's a pretty cool city. The Great Ocean Rd (http://www.greatoceanrd.org.au/)along the south-west coastline & Wilson's Promontory (http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/1park_display.cfm?park=217)are well worth a visit too. It does snow in the Alpine National Park (http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/1park_display.cfm?park=41)in northern Victoria & southern NSW.

I've been to Brisbane a few times. I like it well enough, but I don't want to move there.

We don't want you. Not for any mean reason. It's just the property market is tight enough as it is

I often do that. I write something, remove it -because I forget how to spell a word, and realise a synonym won't have the same effect. That's what I think happened here.

I had a sentence about curling up with summer-toned girls infront of the fire, or soemthing
