What do you think of this band? Are they big in the USA? And does Robert Smith freak you out?

They used to be bigger here in the early '90s than they are now, but they still have a fairly large following.
No, Robert Smith doesn't freak me out.

The Cure are cool. Not one of the best bands around, but they were among the best in the '80s. Better than the Smiths, certainly.
I dont know about the US or how big they are or ever have been where I live, but I liked them in my youth and I still quite like a few of their songs. Robbie doesnt scare me any...he appears quite harmless to me, if a little 'fashion-challenged'...
Anyway, fun band with some really quite nifty tunes, no idea how popular or not they are or have been in the States and Robert Smith definately not scary.

I didn't know they even still existed. They got to be 50 or something...
Yeah, I like them. I might put them on now, actually.

I have a friend who looks like him.

Cool music, good band. Lot of followers in Oz, but we haven't heard much from them recently.

If by freak me out, you mean bore the pants off of me, then yes, you are right.

No one is better than the Smiths. I don't follow all of Morrissey's silly rampages against people and bands (his latest target is actually my country), so I feel as though I can like the Smiths and the Cure. In fact, the Cure is the second or third favourite band of a lot of Smiths fans. But, when it comes down to it, the Smiths are much better.

I worked a couple shows with the Cure. So much smoke-machine you could hardly see. Lead singer laid on his side most the time. Biggest change was when he rolled over onto his other side :p
They used to be big here. They aren't my bag, but my sister loves them. Robert Smith is nowhere near as freaky as some of the people who are popular now. He needs a grille!
