Screw the entire Senate for this. Screw Specter, Frist, the Dem Minority leader, the entire Judiciary committee and all 100 members of the US Senate.

WASHINGTON — Agreement over a highly touted Senate compromise on illegal immigration fell apart Friday as lawmakers lashed out at each over who was to blame for the present impasse over the bill.

Senators said their work on the controversial issue would now be postponed until after Congress returns from the two-week recess.

Who cares who is to blame for it people. SETTLE THE DAMN ISSUE!

Why are you so worried about immigration like its the end of the world, that you would get so angry? How has immigration affected you directly to the point that you take such a keen interest on this issue?

just curious

What else is new? Really, I think the problem is that the bill they're all trying to agree on they really can agree on becuase it won't fix the problem. If one came up that WOULD fix it, most of them would be up in arms trying to fight it down.

The status quo seems to be working out reasonably well for everone as far as immigration is concerned.

i agree. I don't see anything wrong with immigration. I guess only the people that fear that the whites will be out numbered by hispanics are the ones that have anything to worry about. Frankly I would happy if more immigrants(especially very attractive women) were to flock here.

Since when do politicians ever easily come together on something so controversial? It'll take forever for this bill to get anywhere.

Same here, even though it would be cool to have the "Great Wall of America" along the southern border :p

How would that be economically feasible? Anybody can just come into the US and never pay taxes?

Not as many as there would be if we gave people carte blanche to come into the US without paying taxes and eroding the foundation of the state.

Not even sure if these Brits should be talking about this. They don't have to deal with idiotic illegal immigrants from "the land below the middle".

I never said anything about immigration. This deals with illegal immigration which violates US law. It needs to be curbed now.

I always liked the idea of putting mine fields, barbed wire, pungee pits etc down there..Who ever makes it across gets a green card..we turn it into a reality show and boom! everyone is happy. We get to be fat and watch people die and some of them get to live here, all be it without an arm or something.

Wonder what it would do to our economy if those illegals were to pay taxes? Perhaps it go to something useful? Like paying off our national debt?

*laughs at possibility of getting out of debt*

Yeahhhhh... But then WWIII will start. It's not supposed to start until somewhere around 2010, so that the world can end on December 31st, 2012, 11:59 P.M. (Universal time), 59 seconds.

I have figured out a solution to the immigration problem. It is clear to me that no other solution will work. A wall is a stupid idea, it's inhumane to felonize someone for trying to cross an invisible line, and any other tactic is just ineffective.

the only viable solution is this.

WE NEED TO FIX MEXICO.
Because if Mexico was not the utter shithole of a country it is now, people wouldn't be trying to cross a bazillion mile desert or hawking their life savings to shady truck drivers to get there.

Of course, once we fix Mexico, the people in central and south America will be immigrating illegally there, so I dunno.

Well you could guard that border with four guards and a panda bear. How big is it, a few miles?

With Vin Diesel to patroll it at night. Those Riddick Goggles are awesome!

Interesting story, my friend claims that her dad actually bested Chuck Norris in a judo tournament once. But that might be because you can't roundhouse kick in judo.

Agreed. Jack Bauer would snipe them with his 1337 Keith Sutherland skillz, and Chuck could smell them before they got within 100 miles of the border.

Er, how about we control a very large portion of their economy?

We control so much of it that it's pretty hard for them to make their own solid economic base. Their government is infinitely corrupt as it is, and this just makes things worse.
