Are threads becoming all spam?

Do you think that more and more topics lately are becoming ones of a casual nature, "Watcha look like" and "Favorite (whatever)"? Not that I'm complaining but is this a turn for NS? Have we become tired of political and social debates and now want to spam?

Have we? :)

We've alway wanted to. It's just the mods have been lax over the last two days.

Don't worry ... soon the mods will become sick of us getting along and expressing ourselves artisticly and it will be back to the same old ...

It is, after all, an election year.

Kick out the serious, bring in the Spam!

I mean, in no way do I endorse the recent semi-spammosity of NS. Ahem.

SPAM!

I don't think it's spam.. well..it's not completly spam.. but... It is getting hijack friendly which leads it to becoming spamtastic. Maybe just less serious.. a cultural change is upon us!

As though NSGen was ever anything but spam. :p

And it's not as though mods haven't been around... Erastide and TG are on just about twice a day or so... maybe NS can finally return to a period resembling its last Golden Age in late spring - early summer 2005, the time of Neo-A, Neo-R, Neo-K, Drache, TIN, the preglitz PM, and dozens of others we hardly ever see these days anymore... /reminiscences/

I'm personally tired of all the political/religious etc, BS and listening to pseudo intellectual blather. Sometimes, its harder to get my point across without grabbing them by the neck.

I do find other people in here interesting and like to discuss personal likes.dislikes, things they do and how they do it.

And pretty pics of young female flesh are always better than why the US sucks and all that other meaningless spouting of the insecure and inferior.

Guys, we've known this already. I mean, I *know* that it was *totally* obvious in a thread once, maybe at the end of last year still, and if even I noticed it when I was still all new, so you must know it, too.

Oh, did I mention that I forgot who it was? Yeah. Which is really why I brought this up here. Maybe one of you feels like dredging the archives for one of those old dating threads. Because I sure don't.

Most forums I used to go to had a seperate area for serious debates, and just general socializing. Usually works out fine. I haven't really gotten the feel for this place yet to say if it will be a good thing for this forum or not, though.

It's the nature of things for the pendulum to swing back and forth. Sometimes, it will be mostly serious topics, then somebody will say, "Who are these people anyway? I'd like to get to know them." Then it will become more spam for a while, until people really know each other well and start getting back into the more serious stuff...or until somebody like you comes along and says it's stupid.
Vetalia
07-04-2006, 20:27
No, they're not really. I think it's just the time of year; things are overall pretty slow when it comes to new world events, and those that are already out have either been discussed to death or are simply not interesting enough to keep up discussion of.

Plus, the nicer weather is reducing the amount of time people spend on the internets; also, I think the nicer weather lifts peoples' moods and makes them more willing to just kick back and relax with diversionary threads. Come summer, when more people go on due to the end of school I think there will be more activity, and when it becomes fall again things will really pick up with the US Congressional election and whatnot.

Overall, I don't really mind this because it's a more relaxed environment, and it seems like the actual thread content has become more diversified which is a good thing; since the last forum problems, postings and new members per day are hitting new highs. It's a more high-energy environment than it was in the past few months.

yeah, those threads are annoying, but political and social debates are pointless since it's very hard to convince someone on NS since most people here (including your truly) are pompous assholes interested only in asserting their own moral and intellectual superiority.
