I have my own answer, but I am curious, who here has a definition of honor that they think is the best. Simple request, I only ask that you post a brief description of your concept of honor. Let's see which is most popular.

Well? It's something you have. It can't be given to you and it can't be taken away....

All else is subjective. For example, definitions from Japan vs the US.....

Honor is doing what you say and treating people and life with the respect you would expect of others. Don't listen to celebrties or politicians. Don't get it confused with machismo. If gives you a definition that doesn't ring true to what YOU find important, have the confidence to live by YOUR standards.

You fight fair. You hold to your beliefs no matter what and you willingly accept the consequences for those beliefs. You are a gentleman/lady. You may be dead wrong about everything in life, but if you are these three things, then you are honorable. It's sad that so many horrible persons are/were more honorable than the better persons.

To be ready to defend to all consequence the things you believe to be right and true. For example. If you believe that someone beating up smeone weaker for no reason is wrong, then you will attemp to stop it, even if the assailant is a group of 4 Bloodz with pistols. You will not cower from a fight you believe to be just.
