British doctors believe they've found the world's heaviest ecstacy user. He's ingested upwards of 40,000 tabs in his lifetime. Now he's quit the drug but suffers severe mental issues including hallucinations, memory problems, and paranoia. He's also got permanent stiffness of the muscles in his jaw and neck. So do yourselves a favor and don't take 40,000 tabs of ecstacy.

And the purpose of taking all those pills was....?

Personally I'm glad to read this. It's certainly going to make me think twice about consuming drugs.
Yep. I'm stopping when I hit 30000.
Thinking a bit more about it. 40000 E pills. They, what, 5 pounds each aren't they?
That's 200000 pounds he spent on them! He deserves a sore neck, the loser.

If I was younger, I'd probably consider this a bit of a challenge.
Unfortunately, these days, I have neither the time nor the inclination to go for the record.
Hopefully someone will step up to the plate though, and bring the title back to the US where it belongs.

What's funny about this is that if he had taken 25 asprin a day, he'd be dead.

It's not a record one should be proud of, mate. It's like being proud of raping 25 kids a day: wrong either way.

I wouldn't go that far. Some idiot taking a bunch of E is not my or anyone else's problem. Some scumbag raping kids is a problem for everyone (and a real pain in the ass for the local kids).

Probably to have one hell of a good time, for many years in a row.
Duly noted. (I wrote it in my planner for today, in the 12:00 noon slot. I hope nobody looks at this thing.)

It's bullshit. Let's assume they were all 'proper' E's. If he took 25 just once, let alone every single day, he'd be dead.

Probably the same way Wilt Chamberlain remembers having sex with 100,000 women. He doesn't. He guesses.

Deport him to the USA. He can earn his healthcare over here. Assuming he can find a job that pays health benefits, of course.

Pre-existing condition. Most plans won't cover it. He'ld either be uncovered or on public aid here as well.

More worryingly, he did not seem aware himself that he had these memory problems.
Now THAT'S fucked up.
I mean, I smoked a lot of pot back in the day.... but even then I realized there was a detriment to my memory for a little bit.... not realizing the detriment to your memory when you can't remember what time it is.... shit.

Is it now up to 100 000?
When it first came out it was 10 000. Then 30, then 40 000.
At this rate, Wilt's going to be credited as having had sex with every single women in the world before he died. Twice.

Let's not forget that he gradually built up his tolerance to the drug by starting out with five pills per weekend.

Deaths related to ecstasy are generally from overheating or drinking too much water, not from the actual pills themselves. And over time a tolerance builds up, so you have to take more to get the same effect.

Actually, assuming he spaced them out over the course of the day, he could have lived.
He might get away with that once or twice.
People can take about 12 over the course of twelve hours but, assuming he did sleep at some point (maybe once overy three days), we're taking about nearly double that rate of consumption.
I don't believe that someone could take this many pills over such an extended period and have the presence of mind to then provide a reliable or accurate estimate of exactly how many they've ingested.
It just smacks of typical drug-bore boasting.
For several months, he still felt he was under the influence of the drug, despite being bedridden.
