so...should I cut my hair?

Long hair looks better, IMHO.

you should post more than one picture of each - the short hair photo is so close I actually backed up from my monitor when I saw it. Post a few more photos of each or else keep it long. Glasses and no glasses each also.
Why not consider dying it? I may be able to photo-shop it, but time is an issue.

How long are you aiming for? Shoulder length is OK, but past mid-back it's impossible. My suggestion is grow it out, donate it to Locks of Love, and start over.

On some girls I like them to have short hair, on others, I prefer long hair. I think long hair fits your facial structure better. With short hair you look kinda like a little girl, and with long hair you look more mature.

woman to woman.......you gotta go long, it's more flexible, you can pull it up when you have a bad hair day, if you have short hair then you are just stuck with a bad hair day and nothing you can do about it.

I know it sucks when your hair is in the "inbetween stage" where it's too long to be short and too short to be long though, so I would suggest getting it layered a little.

is your hair naturally curly? if so, maybe have them go razor cut it to thin out some of the weight then you get the "lightness" of short hair without the limits. ;)

With short hair you look like dork. Sorry, but its true.
Long, dark hair, on the other hand, is the second best hair style that occurs naturally (leaving out, obviously, highlighting or "unnatural colors", and remembering the Sacred Law of Red Superiority).

I say long. It really looks great and, IMHO, better on you than the short hair.
But what does it look like now? Do you maybe have a pic you could put up? Maybe you could just stay at the medium length and go for something like this:

Ah, Smunkee to the rescue, that's great. I was gonna suggest that, except I have no clue about naturally curly hair, so I wasn't sure if you could actually do that. :p

I never know what to say at the hair dressers anyway, I just sort of male helpless motions and gulp. Pretty hairdressers are pretty much the most intimidating people in the world.

Not to agree with everyone else or anything, but go long, and get it layered. The long hair looks great on you, and long natural curls can look totally awesome, if it's cared for. Plus, like Smunkee and others said, you can put it up/back, on bad hair days - or just because, and have the same convenience of short hair, and other times... long hair is good.

Well, the good thing about hair is that if it isn't the way you like it, it'll grow back. :)

some good layers (long layers) would help your hair have shape and you would most likely leave it down more, also if you just really want short hair, getting them to strip out some of the weight with a razor will really help with the "afro factor", here (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v667/angelscissors/Razor/Razor002.jpg) is a pic of the tool I am talking about (in case the word razor scares you)

Well I cna empathize with wanting to cut your hair. Naturally curly and past my mid back. It can be bothersome and there are so many great short cuts.

Heh, yeah. The only one I'd even CONSIDER would be the middle one in the center row. I mean, in order:

Line 1: I don't want to look like something crawled onto my head and died. Or like my head is exploding. Bangs look dreadful on me. Too light.
Line 2: White perms? LOL. Too short, but the color isn't bad. Plausible. (Original). I used to think I'd like black, but really it just looks bad.
Line 3: When I was 2 that color was ok. Platium is for metal, not my hair. LOVE the mullet look, right? I think I'll stick with being me... probably.

But my husband says he likes the redishness in that center one... so maybe, juuust maybe.

I have to say that as a woman, like most of the others on this thread, I like long hair. I have tried all manner of styles myself, and I have to say that long hair is the one with most versatility. I am growing mine again, it is fairly long now, but I would like it to be longer. My boyfriend goes all goey and silly if he brushes it and tells me how beautiful it is. So my view is go for the long hair, you can put it up or wear it in lots of different ways, and you looked so great in the picture, make sure to get it trimmed at a hairdresser who specialises is longer hair. to keep it looking its best.

I'm not usually one to have anything to say, but I have to vehemently oppose the majority on this.
While you did look really beautiful in the first long hair picture, I think the shorter style (especially in the second, not-so-shockingly-close pic) made you look adorable and much more bold. With long hair you look timid and kind of unsure of yourself, whereas the short hair makes you stand out more.
I'm not a guy, nor am I a lesbian, so I'm not really judging based on sex appeal, but I'd assume if your boyfriend wants to see it short it's because he's already seen pics of you with it and found it cute enough to ask that you consider cutting it again, no?
I don't know. I'm all for short hair on girls. I think it's sexy if for no other reason than it being a change from the usual. Plus, it's super easy to take care of and if there's no time to style it, a headband always works... long hair and a ponytail isn't the only solution to a bad hair day.
