I've been watching the news and they are talking about illegal immigration!

Apparently in the House bill, Republican leaders tried to get the felony charges removed from the bill. They were stopped by Democrats.

What makes this funny is that the Dems are blasting the Republicans over the felony language even though it was the Democrats that kept it in there yet this language was removed from the Senate Bill.

All I can say is that this was a brilliant move by the Democrats. I never expected them to have the forsight to actually pull this stunt.

To be fair, the provision was originally put in as a poison pill, but the Republicans passed it anyway. That being said, I think it's canny, but also completely dishonest and Machiavellian. Politics shouldn't be like this, and politicians shouldn't do this.

Erm...national politicians are completely dishonest and Machiavellian.
