Well, I disagree with some of the more dogmatic points, but on the whole I have nothing against you lot :) As far as I'm concerned the more ecumenism there is between the Churches the better (I'm C of E).

I think it's absurd to expect people to live with a sense of shame and guilt from birth, just because some woman in a myth ate an apple.

We're not supposed to feel guilty about it, that's the whole point of baptism, to clear our souls from original sin. ( eve eating the apple) But I'm kind of confused about that too.

i think catholics take some things a little too far.

for instance, the pope, the leader of your church. but as an outsider looking in it appears many catholics seem to see him as more than a leader, but just about god like.

many more cases, but i dont feel like writing a novel

I found this on wikipedia.

"Adolf's strict Catholic upbringing was typical for the region. He served as an altar boy, sang in the choir, was baptized, took the sacraments and received Communion; a devout Christian, in public discourse he continued frequently to proclaim his Christianity. However, as an adult he discontinued attending mass and therefore was not in this way a practicing Catholic."

My family's Protestant, so most would think I have negative views of them

But I don't, especially since all of my schools have been Roman Catholic(they were closer I believe) and I've grown up with Roman Catholics

But I do have to critisize the Pope, which of course as a Protestant, I believe has no right in telling us how to come closer to God when it should be a deeply personal relationship. How you worship God is your choice, no 80 year old virgin should critisize your worshipping

Considering I attend a Catholic university (even though I'm agnostic) it would not be good if I had a problem with Catholics. They're decent people for the most part, though the fundamentalists among them get a little annoying, but they are well educated and, unlike some other strains of Christianity that overemphasize faith and the afterlife, at least they're focused on Earthly deeds--even if I disagree with some of their methods.

Mwahahaha! You see young padawan? You have fallen neatly into the place alotted you by my plan! For the debate has been settled, I have been proved right (since he wasn't really a Catholic at the time of his life we're interested in), I have become that much more knowledgeable, and most importantly - I didn't have to do squat! I strongly disagree with their recent attempts to roll back Liberation Theology and Vatican II, but in general, Catholics are good, solid people and citizens who probably have a much better overall interpretation of their religion than many Protestant branches. That's one of the unfortunate problems with the Protestant project: if every man is a Pope, then there are many spectacularly ignorant Popes out there right now.

I say this as a Lutheran, btw.
