i think you'll get a civil rights movement pretty quickly, if not led by them then by humans with consciences. it would not be ok for industries to use them.

Jews haven't forgotten, and never will. Blacks seem to have become racist towards every race, including their own. I think having them go through the Middle Passage, being sold, and working on a farm for 2-3 years will do blacks a whole world of good.

And there are people of EVERY race who are racists. And not all black people are racist, just as not all of any race is ANYTHING... and to say that an entire racial group has a particular trait IS racist. The idea that slavery is a good way to teach ANYONE a lesson is absurd, and offensive.

How are you defining sapience and sentience, then? As far as I was aware, (heh NPI) sentience=self-awareness, and sapience=sentience+tool use+communication. If you're going by similar definitions, then I'd seriously question the assertion that "all higher-type mammals" (whatever that actually means) are sentient. Only chimpanzees and either octopi or squids (or perhaps both) have been proven self-aware, as far as I know.

Do you have any concept of how silly that sounds? Forcing slavery on anyone is not going to solve the problems we have with racism. If anything, it will make them worse. And forced servitude is in no one's blood. Read the history of various African tribes - like the Zulu and Masai for instance, prouder, more independent people would be hard to find.

Of course cats are sentient! They are geniuses. They have engineered for themselves the most perfect of all possible lives. They've suckered humans into supporting them for free, providing them with cozy beds, yummy foods, toys, catnip -- for nothing. Oh, we keep them for mouse-killing, you say? When was the last time your cat killed a mouse? It's a scam, I tell you. Are you telling me you don't need sentience to be a con artist?

Cats are so self-aware, they're conceited. They're always very careful to be seen looking only their best and most cool, and if anything uncool happens, they get intensely pissed off.

What? Read that aloud, what the fuck does that mean? Do you mean I have to treat all people the same to stop Blacks from acting racist towards whites? Assuming I understand you (and I concede I'm not sure I do) it seems to me that you are saying that for the most part, blacks view whites in a negative light. Which could be argued to mean they are as racist as whites in their attitudes and beliefs. Also, if I read it right, you make a case against affirmative action; all people should be afforded opportunity on their individual merit, not based on skin color. Try telling that to the NAACP. I agree, but much of the current black leadership will howl bloody murder if they were told blacks had to make it on their own and without outside assistance. Seemingly, black leadership doesn't have confidence in their own race to do it without help.
