Italian (I can't stand any of the other variants, they all make me sick).
Topped with good, spicy tomatoe sauce, pepperoni, ham, mushrooms, onions, sweetcorn, peppers and mozzarella cheese ... not too much cheese, though.

Oh, what a perfect opportunity to

1) congratulate you on your most excellent taste in pizza (you do know that you forgot to mention the mushrooms that have to snuggle up to the salami, though, right?)

2) ask somebody who's part German and knows what Salami is yet who's also part American if Americans actually know what salami is? Because in the US it was always just "pepperoni", which irritated me to no end, because, well, Pepperoni really is something else entirely. Silly Americans.

Mmmm, pizza. I mostly go for the veggie kinds, although recently I've been getting ones with meat. When I do get meat pizza it's either chicken, bacon or ham. No pepperoni or sausage for me - for some reason, the smell/taste of either on pizza makes me ill. My current favourites include the chicken club from Mountain Mike's (white garlic sauce, chicken, bacon, tomatoes and green onions), and the chicken/garlic gourmet from Round Table (chicken, garlic, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, cheese on white garlic sauce). When I can get it (and I can't where I live), I like pizza with spinach, feta cheese, mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes.

Dammit, you made me hungry! :(

Well, if we're talking about pepperoni - the sausage and not pepperoni - the pickled vegetable here, I think the difference between salami and pepperoni is that pepperoni is a small, rather spicy version of salami, really. A bit dryer that normal salami, too. But then again, I'm no expert...

Salami is salami here... Italian, German, Hungarian, Spanish, all labeled Salami. Irish Salami is a bit different though, much like Bierwurst, only a bit smaller and you can get it with garlic, as well.

Now that you mention it.... Pizza really is fast food in much of Europe, you can buy slices of it in bakeries and on the street. Or you can order an entire pizza to be delivered, both is possible. But it's different in Ireland and Canada (and I assume the UK and the US as well), where pizza is restaurant food or delivered, but not a fast food snack, right?

I like the aptly named Meat God from a local, family owned pizza place. It has pepperonni, salami, ham, bacon, beef. It is there thickest pizza buy nearly a half inch. It takes longer for them to cook but it is well worth it.

Can't say I have, but Connecticut has good pizza. I know Chicago and New York are famous for it, but I think people underestimate Connecticut for pizza. It is starting to become something of a fast food. The local Real Canadian Super Store sells it in their bakery. The local Costco also sells pizza. Neither hold its own against a real pizzaria pizza though.

well, we do have places where you can just grab a slice...most places do that, and I guess you could call that fast food...but it is much more common to have a whole pizza. The only times I've ordered by the slice is when its a big group and everyone wants something different. We usually go for delivery or just go into the reseraunt at a good place. Unless we're drunk. Not in Italy. If you go to a restaurant that is owned by a local it will take about an hour for the meal, and three times as long to eat it. They don't just serve all of the food at once like in most places, there will be 3 or 4 different parts of the entree and while you are eating one the other is being made. Once you finish with one part, the other part is brought to your table.

We are pretty vocal when eating. We say something, then jam food in our face while someone responds, then say something, etc. When we are done, our asses start to get sore and we frig off.

these are definatly "real" restaurants (what is a "fake" restaurant?) Americans just don't do 21 courses like the italians ;)

I wasn't talking about American restaurants. :p

A fake restaurant is one of those restaurants that take 5 minutes to make your meal and in the end the food tastes more like frozen plastic then actual food.

huh...maybe your chicken dippers are our kickers...
Kickers are boneless buffalo (ie spicy) chicken that comes with hot sauce and bleu cheese dips.
Cinnastix are the bread sticks but with cinnamon and sugar on them, and some really good icing to dip in.

I'm happy...haha. How's she enjoying her trip? I'm betting that she misses you to an extent that would make the average cynical NSer nautious;)

Our standard dinner conversation typically involved my dads syphalys patients and the like. People also find it odd that my dad is constantly up and down from the table, and people come and go in the middle of the meal and none of us give it a second thought...just the way our family has learned to work...my dads on call some nights and we all have busy lives

fancy is overrated.
ahah...now I'm frightened. Hold me. haha. We're getting better at hiding the white text. Although, now I'm sure someone is going to quote this just to prove me wrong. *shakes fist*

Chicago style all the way! Although I do enjoy deepdish, I like the square cut, peporonis under the heavy cheese variant the best. Nothing like Chicago food :D .

i like the 'american hot' pizza that pizza express does with loads of chilli oil poured on. any pizza that's thin crust with jalapenos and some kind of meat on it is good for me tho. and extra cheese too.
