cheer me up

So I'm in a bad mood tonight. Yah, I know nobody cares, but I thought just putting it out there might make me feel better.

My husband's working til 4am tonight, so I'm home alone with the little kiddo. She's extra tired from the time change last night, so she's tempramental and cranky. I've got a headache. I haven't bothered to eat dinner 'cause I'm lazy. To top it off though, I was about to head off for bed, when I got a phone call from my aunt saying my grandma's been in the hospital a week, and she thinks she's dying (she ALWAYS thinks she's dying, but grandma's 98, so one always worries about it) and nobody even bothered to tell me. Sure, I know I'm the black sheep of the family. I'm so terrible! I mean, I don't live with my parents anymore, and I *gasp* got married and had a baby. Apparently I'm so bad I don't even deserve to know my grandma's sick. Specially when half a dozen other times when she was sick I went and stayed with her so she could go home and not to a nursing home. Yeah, nobody should bother to tell me. Right. I guess because I moved an hour away and got married without my dad's permission I must not love my grandma anymore or something. But I do anyway. If there's one thing I miss from back there/then it's having dinner with her a couple times a week, and playing games with her. And here she's 98 and gets pnemonia, and nobody bothers to tell me for a week.
*end rant*
*cries*

I'm sorry you're having such a bad night. Do you have a good movie you can put in and make yourself a cup of tea? Sounds cheesy but it helps. I hope your Grandmother gets well. She has lived a long life.:)

I know how it feels to be treated like an outcast by family members. Try not to let them make you feel bad about making decisions that they didnt agree with. It;s your life, they shouldnt treat you this way simply because you are living it.

yikes your day sounds like my week, hubby went to CA, the kids got the stomach flu, my mom's in the hospital, my grandpa thinks he is dying, my cousin got arrested for armed robbery, everyone's mad that I didn't bail her out.........

yeah, you need a bubble bath, and some hot tea, and a sad movie, I swear, watch the movie, cry your eyes out, drink some hot tea and take a hot bath, you will sleep like a baby, and then tomorrow you will feel better.

oh, you might want to kick hubby for leaving you alone til 4am (it's not his fault, but hey, it's fun anyway)

Also, eat. Doesn't have to be much. But I'll bet even a little nibble of something (chocolate!) would do for your headache, and heartache too ;)

Heh. Sorry about your week. yeah, I like the hot tea idea. a bubble bath is nice butI don't want to go to bed with wet hair. and i don't like sad movies - I might put on Long Kiss Goodnight though. That's one of my favorite bad-mood movies. Lots of explosions and chases and things. And I don't kick my hubby 'cause I might hurt him. Plus, he's off making money, it's not like he's out having a great time someplace or anything.

Mmm... I DO have a bag of chocolates within reach. Maybe some ice cream too. Ice cream, hot tea and chocolate. I'm almost motivated to get up.

yeah, I usually do, then pull it up in a pony tail.......probably not good for my hair though.

yeah, I like to watch Predator when I am in a bad mood sometimes, I just keep waiting for him to kill Arnold........but it never happens :(

ah, yeah.

I probably have stay at home mom syndrome where even when hubby is working a 26 hour shift when he comes home I am like "you got to go talk to people, and I had to stay here and get puked on all damn day, no fair" although it could also be hormones..........maybe.

I used to always shower just before bed, but I found it was making me get stiff necks from the wet hair on my neck all night. (I have thick, long hair that takes half of forever to dry, specially when I'm sleeping on it. And I hate hairdryers.)

I might have stay at home mom syndrome more if my hubby liked his job. He hates it. Still, he comes home from work, and he's spent all his word allotment for the day, and I've got about 9/10ths of mine left, and we have to work out some way of reconsiling those two. He'd be happy if we said a few sentences all evening. I'd be happy if we never stopped talking, and I get mad when I monologue and he never even looks at me or grunts. He really is listening (and can repeat what I said if asked) but just doesn't have anything to say. Drives me NUTS. But usually we manage to get a happy medium, as long as we both understand where the other is coming from.

Oh, and I got two purry kittens here to cheer me up too now. They decided to come in for the night now I guess. :-) Cute little boys.

I've been cheering myself up lately by imagining Paul McCartney being trapped on an ice floe.

I'll cheer you up with Steven Wright:

"I put instant coffee in my microwave oven and almost went back in time."

And now I'll go back and read your first post...

Eh, I'm not really a chick flick sort of person. I really only watch chick flicks under duress. Well, or in very unusual moods. Even then, my hubby and I go back and forth between us paraphrasing Princess Bride:

Me: "Eewwww They're kissing again..."
Him: "Someday, you may not mind so much"

But I did get the ice cream and hot tea. Earl grey. Sugar, no cream. With a side of Peanut Butter Tracks. Mmmmm... tasty.

Oh, good. When I read your post after I copied the Stephen Wright quote, I realized, "Gee, this could go either way."

Glad it went the good way.

(And its always the black sheep that make the best people.)

You just HAD to ask, didn't you? I was just going to smile and nod and back slowly away from the scary man.

Normally I'm not a chick flick kind of girl either. I'm more into horror or adventure. But this one is different.Try it.

Well, I'm off to bed. Thanks for the cheer up - it actually did help my mood significantly! Amazing, ain't it? A thread that actually got somewhere. Heh. Goodnight all. Don't bite the bed bugs.

I'll take it under advisement and see if I can't try it out sometime.
