It's actually chilling that no-one helped in several of the staged incidents.

For all those who ever see anything like this happening: If you don't want to get involved, AT THE VERY LEAST, PLEASE get as much details as possible and call the police on the non-emergency number - no worry of getting beaten up (though if more people actually did something that worry would be a lot lessened anyway) and no worry of being accused of making false emergency calls.

And learning Martial Arts (even rubbish ones) can help give you confidence. You can sometimes learn them for as little as a couple of quid or a few bucks.

Oh COME ON... that aint the slightest bit funny. I mean OK, so this was a staged incident, but it could easily have been real.

Ok ok, I'm sorry.

Actually talking about this story tho.. I'm sad to say, I would mind my own business.. I think..

Why though? If you're worried about getting hurt, you could do as I suggested above.

When a child is being abducted, it's EVERYONE'S business.

I would have taken the mofa down. And I wanna publicly commend the guys who were gonna - nice one, you dudes deserve a medal.

I think there was some wisdom to be had in the fact that the guys who did something were together. It's hard to confront someone one-on-one.

My friends have had several incidences where individually, we could not cofront someone (more specifically, a guy harassing/abusing his gf - surprisingly common) But as there were about four or five of us with the knowledge we'd back each other up, we knew we had the advantage. The guy stopped, we did the right thing by confronting him.

While crowds of people may not be willing to help, I believe it is because each of the individuals fears no one will aid them as well.

And they could be right. But I'd rather get beaten up than let a child be abducted and possibly murdered (or worse). What annoys me though is when someone steps in, other people still walk past. The bigger the crowd, the less chance of the abducter fighting you. I did notice once an incident where a gang were attacking some guy, and a mass of people rushed to his aid. Was inspiring, to say the least.

And as I've said, there's other things you could do, even if on you're own, rather than get directly involved. Take as much details as possible and phone the non-emergency police number for example. so if you ever see an incident like the one in the video, and are on your own, please, for the love of God, at least do that.

Now why make with the ghetto talk joke?

The two guys are far better people.

People being sorry assed is not exactly new.

A gal I know took a rape prevention class was told to yell fire instead of help. She was told it was shown that people tend to come running......

Apparently it's true. Because people want to see a fire.

I hate to say what would happen here in NC if anyone tried to abduct a child in broad daylight like that. There are a considerable number of people here who have concealed carry permits. I can just see some enraged lil old lady pull a hog-leg out of her bag and blow the mutha away! Heh!

We obviously have differing ideas about what constitutes "humor." That is, assuming you even have a sense of humor. Why not just refrain from commenting on my posts from now on? Hmm?

I have a sense of humour. Just not quite as sick as yours. I mean, come on, you think making a joke out of a kidnapped child is funny. Anyone with any morals can see that's sick.

And because of Free Speech. I will comment on whatever post I want to comment on.

Fascist. Deleting the the reasons I gave for my comments whenever you quote me. And not even putting the three dots (...) to show that you've deleted part of what I wrote. Fascist. Making jokes out of kidnapped children aint funny. Simple as.

Fascist.
I mourn the death of the word fasci.

Agree with you though on the seriousness of the topic, and anyone who would turn a blind eye while a child is abducted in front of them shares in the perpetrator's guilt.

Those who target children are the worse kind of scum.

Living in a small town, an abduction like that isn't going to happen, and I have a hard time imagining living somewhere where the "its not my problem" is the norm.
