I used to like McCain but I can't vote for him anymore. Especially watching him embrace the very man the impuned his military career. Publically insulting Clinton's daughter and now back pedaling on Falwell.
Sorry John but Jerry is about intollerence and he does not give support without getting something back.
So many candidates; so little choices.

Posturing for '08. I never trusted McCain anyway, and this proves to me that he's just another politician saying things for political gain.

On Sunday, McCain said that Christian conservatives have a major role to play in the Republican Party, but added, "I don't have to agree with everything they stand for."
(Emphasis added.)
Uh...did you read the whole article? Also, the man's running for president as a Republican -- did you honestly think he was going to continue pissing off a fairly large segment of his potential voter base? Isn't it possible he's softening now because he was in the position of needing to separate himself from Bush in 2000, and Bush had already courted the Religious Reich, I mean Right? Give McCain some credit for political shrewdness. Becoming president means making deals and possibly even peace with folks you don't agree with in order to get the 270 electoral votes you need.
Welcome to the world of politics. McCain's still a damn sight better than Bill "Diagnose from a Distance" Frist.

That's like saying that cholera's better than typhoid--I still wouldn't wish either of them on my ex-wife.
The thing that Black Forrest (and I, in the past) is pointing out is that McCain has spent most of his political career building himself up as an independent, as the "Straight Talk Express," as the Republican that wasn't just another Republican. What he's been busily proving for the last few months is that he is, indeed, just another Republican. It's not that he's so different from any other politician--it's that since he set himself up on a pedestal, he has farther to fall.

Mc Cain sucks up to every one. He tries to make it look like he is an unbiased middle of the road guy but he is the biggest sell out in the senate. He is a filthy knot headed piece of shit.

Well, cross another "respected" politician off my list. Ron Paul for President!
