I live in Florida, and really hope that Katherine Harris doesn't drop out of the Senate race against Bill Nelson, because I'd love to extract my gram of flesh for the shit she pulled as FL Secretary of State in 2000 with the bullshit recount.

Her campaign is in the toilet--advisers leaving left and right, no support from outside groups because they all know that having her on the ticket will bring out Dems in droves to vote against her, and will likely drive Dem victories up and down the ticket.

Sadly, the photo was not retouched. Harris is indeed that frightening. And if you can find the video of her announcement of her candidacy for the Senate, it's hysterical. She's sitting at a 3/4 angle to the camera, with her bags of fear jutting out prominently. I'll see if I can find a link.

I used a gram precisely because it's such a small amount. In comparison to the amount of suffering Harris has caused as a result of her actions in 2000, my vote against her in 2008 wouldn't even amount to a gram in retribution, but I take what I can get.

each voter has only one vote. katherine harris certified the election results as soon as she could to make sure no recount could take the election away from bush.
