The George W. Bush administration went well beyond refusing to negotiate with terrorists in its handling of the threat by freelance journalist Jill Carroll's abductors to kill her if all female detainees were not released from U.S.-run prisons in Iraq.

According to Iraqi officials, U.S. officials delayed the scheduled release of six female prisoners whom they knew had already been found innocent because of the kidnappers' demand for their release. Then they refused to speed up the review of the files of the five remaining female prisoners, in violation of a policy of giving priority to females in the review of detainee files for release.

Had the normal policy been followed, it is very likely that all the women held by the United States would have been released by now. By delaying the releases of female detainees to strike a tough anti-terrorism pose, the administration has increased the risk to Jill Carroll's life.

He didnt let anyone die in 9/11, he had know way of stopping it. If Mossuai had told us what he knew or if Clinton was above horrible in regards to terrorism, maybe it wouldnt have happened. Bush wouldnt have let it happen because no president wants something like that happen on their watch. Now he's just taking the necessary steps in Iraq to prevent a similar attack.

This war is built on propoganda and sensationalism. The images of Muslims celebrating in the wake of 9/11? Actually shot two years previously at a celebratory event. The network apologised and withdrew the footage. Anyone remember that?

Norman Kember (newly released) was a fool, who thought Missionary work was still in date, and tried to 'heal' the poor, misguided souls of Iraq with the teachings og God. With all the extremists lurking, its a miracle he wasnt shot on sight. The men who saved him wasted their time, in my opinion, and risked their lives to save a silly old sod who thought Missionary work was still acceptable in todays society.
The fact he appeared so ungrateful afterwards spoke volumes. I think he secretly wanted to be Martyred, much the way Kenneth Bigley was (No offence to Bigley-what happened to him was wrong, and he was an engineering worker, not a preacher)
