people usually start to smoke when they are kids when they dont know better and see people smoking all the time and then start to like it and just enjoy smoking.

I'm getting a little confused here by the raging arguments against smoking. We are having it here now, banning in public enclosed spaces that is. Fine by me, I'm a smoker and I hate someone lighting up next to me in a restaurant just as my delicious starter arrives, but it's getting a bit silly now.

I personally have had non-smokers yell at me about killing them while sat in the pub having a fag, in the smoking section of the bar. They weren't sat in the non-smoking section but still felt it was their right to tell me to put my cig out. How's that work?

Nowadays I just tell people eating 1 pork chop a week has the same chances of giving you cancer as sitting next to me smoking once a week, usually works.

You get worse fumes every day from car emissions, etc. Thats involuntary as well. I can see a point in banning smoking in closed public places, but thats about it. Nowhere private should be forced to ban it, and nowhere outdoors, either.

I like to try different cigarettes, so I'm always smoking something different. My favorites, though, are Virginia Slims and Capri. I dunno why, but when people bum smokes off me, I always get a kick out of handing them these little girly cigarettes.

I'd say that banning smoking in "non-smoking" areas and family restraunts is reasonable, but that bars and the sort should be allowed to choose whether or not to allow smoking. Outdoors... 20 feet froom any intake or doorway is probably reasonable. In the case of businesses that allow smoking, they should be required (if they're in a building with other tenants) to have proper air cleansing done. Indoor air pollution is a big issues, and smokers contribute heavily to it.

It's true that car fumes are bad, but I'd also support doing everything possible to lower emissions as well, so I'm not being a hypocrite about it.
