Ever get a song that just makes you smile, no matter how many times you hear it?? Right now, that Daniel Powter song really does it for me, although I am quickly growing fond of Natasha Beddingfield, at least the two songs I have heard from her.... your thoughts??

Stab, by Juliette Dagger (ja, ich weiss; Nehmen Sie nicht mir sagen) makes me giggle. I can't really explain the whys or hows of this songs effect on me, but the first time I heard it I laughed my head off. Now, I don't laugh as much, but I still join in on the chorus:
You make me wanna
STAB
You make me wanna
BOYS
You make me wanna
STAB
You make me wanna
BOYS
How couldn't you love that?

Yup. I have one. It was by a mid to late seventies progressive rock band called Klaatu, who were mostly famous for having been confused by the music media as having been The Beatles recording under a assumed name. The confusion was made even worse by the bands' steadfast refusal to list any information whatsoever about themselves on their albums. By the time they came clean, it was too late. The media now hated them for "making" them appear to be fools. After four albums, Capitol dropped them but they had some really excellent music on those albums.

My personal favorite was a song off the second album, "Hope". I play this when I get really depressed and need something to cheer me up. Works every time.

Hope
(John Woloschuk)

Hope is like a lighthouse keeper's beam
Hope, the master cobbler of our dreams
For Hope believes in desert streams
The mightiest of stars
The microcosm in a jar
Vast or small they all revolve on Hope

Hope the guardian angel of the dove
Hope a gift of guidance from above
For Hope is the heart in mother's love
No plans could be conceived
No ships could fare the seas
For there would be no courage were it not for Hope

Now the path before us lies before our very eyes
Don't you see
And it leads up to the gateway
Lead me through
Don't you see

Then come and take my hand
Raise up your head
And dry your eyes
For up ahead I see
A ray of peace
Shining down on me

So let us feel Hope
And feel the sunrise in our minds
To give Hope is to enlighten all mankind
Ah, but lose Hope and life seems black as blind
When faith gives way to fear
When motivation disappears
All is lost if one abandons Hope
All is lost
If one abandons Hope
