Travel Advice
I don't think I could possibly be more excited then I am now. I'm leaving in a few days for my first trip ever outside the US. Here's the itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in Venice mid-morning, walking tour in the afternoon
Day 2: Free Day in Venice
Day 3: Morning train to Florence, quick tour including Uffizi Galleries, evening train to Rome
Day 4: Morning tour of Classical Rome, Afternoon tour of Vatican City
Day 5: Morning Tour of Galleria Borghese, Evening flight to Athens
Days 6-8: Athens
We're trying to see as much as possible even though we have limited time, so a lot of our days will be guided tours. However, we will have some free time in Venice, Rome and Athens so I'd appreciate if anyone familiar with those cities could suggest some places to visit.

Oh I can't tell you how jealous I am right now. You're first trip out of the US and to VENICE! Wow! Can't say I'm of help, but I'm still jealous. :D
Well, my dad got invited to speak at a confrence in Athens and it just happened to be during my sister and I's Spring Break, so luckily we decided to go as a family.:)

Travel tip:
Don't give a mischievous friend access to your suitcase. You don't want security finding a vibrating dildo inside. :p

Be prepared for the stench in Venice. Visually a stunning place, but it stinks.

Yeah, but it's still early in the year, so he might be lucky and not get the really evil stink. And maybe just 1 million fellow tourists instead of the usual 2...
But seriously, N Y C, that's sounds great! I hope you have a terrific trip!
Venice was beautiful, but I was pretty young when I was there so I don't remember much.
Now Florence... Florence is incredible. :)

So any plans for Athens?
Acropolis, Agora and National Archeological Museum are all on my list. Hopefully just some walking around too, but like I'd love suggestions.

The Closest to Athens I have been is Crete The Island was nice but the Hotel was a complete disaster:
We did'nt know if we were eating Chichen or Fish, the Electrics were hanging out of the walls and our Holiday Rep kept getting replaced every few days.
