As promised, later today, I'll be setting up a fantasy baseball league (rotisserie) for anyone interested. All I ask is that, if you decide to join, make sure you stick with it, even if you're not faring well. It sucks for everyone involved when people don't participate throughout the entire season.

If you're interested, please email me at my Yahoo email address. Just drop the "-stan" off my nation name, and you've got my Yahoo user name. Please put "NS Fantasy Baseball" in the subject header so that I don't delete your email, thinking it's spam. I'll email you back with the league name, number, and password once I've got it all set up (which should be in the next couple of hours or so, work permitting). Please do not telegram me for this info, because the limit on the TG inbox might cause me to lose some of them.

Oh, and if you're not living in the US don't let that stop you from joining. Being in the US has never stopped me from playing in English Premiership fantasy leagues. ;)

Okay, just set everything up. If interested, email me as soon as possible, as I'll be running the draft (it's automated, based on your pre-rankings, or on the Yahoo default rankings) on Friday at 10 pm EST. Opening day is the following Sunday. :D

Okay, you have a draft in which you pick players from any team to fill your roster. Then, each day (or in some leagues, each week), you set a lineup. You get points for each of your players' performances in certain stat categories. Now, in a points-based league, you just get those points, and they're all added up to determine your score and ranking within the league. In my league, which is what's called a rotisserie league, however, you get points for being ranked in each stat category. If the league has ten teams, for instance, and I've got the most homeruns, for instance, I get 10 points for that category. If I've got the fewest RBI, then I only get one point in that category. Your points in each category are then added up for a total score.

EDIT: And that "just a girl" stuff is hooey. A girl won one of my leagues last year. :p

okay, I think I understand.....I don't know much about baseball though (I don't follow teams, other than the local one) what would happen if I just picked my team at random....probably have random type results right?

LOL! Actually, there's a default order for the draft that can be used, rather than setting an order of preference yourself. After the draft, it's just figuring out who's playing each day and making sure your lineup is filled out as much as possible.

Unfortunately, no, you can't. Sorry. :(

The season is now underway. Thanks to everyone who joined. Remember to set your lineups everyday (you can set them several days in advance, if need be) and stay active to keep the league competitive. :cool:

Don't forget to check your teams frequently. I usually set my lineup for the day as soon as I get up in the morning. You can, however, set it for a few days in advance if you're not that hands-on.
