yep, it's only 4 days from Christmas, so there were years ( a lot of them) when people would write me (or call me) and say "I couldn't afford to do both so here is your Christmas/Birthday present"

I won't go into my entire rant, but people really PICK ONE!!!

"I couldn't afford both so here is your birthday present" is fine, but stop with the combo!!

What's the point of the poll anyway? I seriously doubt there's some bizarre correlation between voting in NationStates polls and the month of birth.

I share a birthday with the poet Aubrey De Vere (http://www.sonnets.org/devere.htm), who actually used to live very close to my family home. Also, I always got lots of Christmassy presents for my birthday, which I hated. Also, holidays from school used to end on my birthday, which also sucked greatly.

I share my birthday with Johan Gadolin, Allvar Gullstrand, Keynes, and Pancho Villa. My birthday is also the day King Louis X of France and Ronald Regean died. It is a national holiday of Denmark. Pope Clemens was elected as Pontiff in 1305 on my B-Day. The first Great Lakes steamer, the Frontenac, was launched in 1817 on the same date as my birth. In 1917 WWI conscription started on my day. The Allies prepared Norwary for invasion and two years later, in 1947, the Marshall plan was introduced to the American public on my B-Day. In 1977, the Apple II went on sale the same day I was born. The first recognized AIDS cases were recognized in Los Angeles, California, as well. The Unknown Rebel halts the progress of a column of advancing tanks for over half an hour after the Tiananmen Square protests on my birth day.

Religious History
0003 (BC) According to early Christian theologian Clement of Alexandria (ca.155_ca.220 AD), Jesus Christ was born on this date.
1758 English churchman Philip Embury, 30, married Margaret Switzer. Afterward immigrating to America, Embury was later encouraged by his cousin Barbara Heck to found a Methodist society in New York City in 1768. Embury thus became the first Methodist preacher in North America.
1775 Anglican hymnwriter John Newton wrote in a letter: 'Rational assent may be the act of our natural reason; faith is the effect of immediate almighty power.'

On the day of my birthday in 2001, firefighters pulled some twelve people out of the wreckage of the World Trade Centre...

Oh OUCH. For four and a half years I've wondered about how awful it must be for people with birthdays on September 11th... years of going about your business with an ordinary birthday and then suddenly the date is a huge, grave deal.

Wow, has it already been that long? My gosh, I was in sixth grade... now I'm almost sixteen...

My birthday's April 9th and if I recall correctly nothing at all happened except there was a full moon. Although according to Wikipedia the Civil War ended on my birthday in 1865 and two years later we bought Alaska. In 1990 in particular though, it was rather boring.

The only person that I've seen that has my birthday (July 23rd) that I remember I remember because I think it's bullshit.

Alexander the Great, according to something I read. Though I cry bullshit, cause I don't know how they're supposed to know the day he was born. Not like there where medical records or anything...so yeah, I don't buy it.

21 November. I don't seem to share the date with anybody that is of remote interest to me, though I am deeply heartened to learn that it is both World Hello Day and World Television Day.

I remember my 18th birthday very well. It was the first time I ever had friends over. Unfortunately my parents didn't pay the electricity bill and power was cut off at nightfall, plus my mother wet her pants. I don't think I'm going to relive any more of that day, it all went down hill from there.

13th of May. Sometimes it falls on a Friday. Hehe :p

Eeek, you're a May person too? Cool. :)

I had a theory a while ago that I tend to instantly get along with May people much more easily than anyone else...how weird. I don't believe any of that astrology shit, but people born within a week either way of my birthday I generally hit it off with really well. It's quite odd.
That's the astrology shit at work. :p Oh, and you have to hate me; I was born in January.:D

October 8 (It was a Saturday)

I am not sure exactly when I was due, but I know I was a month or two early. My Mom was washing the kitchen floor at the house of some relatives when she unexpectedly went into labour. People sometimes stare at me, incomprehensive, when I say that I never lived in the town where I was born.

I am happy with the date, though. It is the birthday of one of my Aunts, and also one of my best friends. Half the time I have my birthday off for Thanksgiving, but the other half always seemed to be a day when we had a test or a major assignment due in class.

Famous People With My Birthday:
- Juan Perón
- Walter Gretzky
- R.L. Stein
- Sigourney Weaver
- CeCe Winans
- Matt Damon
- Tetsuya Nomura
- Kie Turtlecrest {Widespread Fame Forthcoming}
