What should we do with troublemakers? ( 500 merged threads )

We seem to be having at least 5 threads about folks who don't QUITE see things as we do.
And we seem to be having just about every argument anyone could make re-made in much the same way for each in every thread.

So there - one generic thread for ALL possible opposition to: Bush/Blair/West/Capitalism/whatever. - and what to do about it.

( building it up slowly, please have patience for 5 minutes or so)
Patience is overrated.

Sorry.

What should we do with troublemakers? Cherish them. Debate with them. Support them. Challenge them to be better. Help them. RESPECT them. That is a biggie so I will repeat it... RESPECT them. Honor their sovereignty. Offer them different viewpoints. Teach them. Learn from them. Ultimately, if they prefer to be left alone, LEAVE THEM ALONE.

What shouldn't we do with troublemakers? Assume we are right and they are wrong (NOTE THAT I SAID "ASSUME"). Back them into corners from which violence seems the only escape. Obliterate them when they use that escape. Take them over. Condemn their leaders for thinking differently. Force our system on them. Insist they change. Subjugate them. Proscelytise. Assume our system is right for them. Force help on them. Force education on them. Force anything on them. Insist that the world join us in any of these things.

I have my reasons or motivations for doing what I do, or thinking what I think.

It stands to reason that you have your reasons or motivations for doing what you do, or thinking what you think.

It would be a very odd concidence if those reasons or motivations were the same.

Therefore, my actions and your thoughts, and vice versa, are unlikely to make sense, or appear rational, to when looked upon from a different point of view.

In fact, my interest in other points of view is entirely theoretic, and they are unlikely to have any serious value to me.

For those reasons, my interest in any form of dealing with non-westerners is close to zero: the less contact there is, the better.

One might consider curiosity an impelling reason to investigate outsiders, but I find this entirely distasteful and vulgar. Why the outsider does what he does is no more a fitting interest than who he sleeps with - the slightest curiosity in that outsider is a living proof of very bad manners indeed - unless it be forced upon us against our deepest wishes.

To summarise: Nuffin. Not realy interested in anything an outsider might have to say.

The world today seems absolutely crackers,
With nuclear bombs to blow us all sky high.
There's fools and idiots sitting on the trigger.
It's depressing and it's senseless, and that's why...

(singing)
I like chinese,
I like chinese,
They only come up to you knees,
Yet they're always friendly and they're ready to to please.

I like chinese,
I like chinese,
There's nine hundred million of them in the world today,
You'd better learn to like them, that's what I say.

etc etc... :D

Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii've got:

90 thousand Pounds in my pyjamas,
I've got 40 thousand French Francs in my fridge;
I've got lots of lovely Lire now,
The Deutschmark's getting dearer,
And my Dollar bills could buy the Brooklyn Bridge!

There is nothing quite as wonderful as money,
There is nothing like a newly-minted Pound;
Some people say it's folly, but I'd rather have the lolly,
'Cause money's what makes the world go 'round!

Etc.

We should listen to what they have to say. Where we go from there depends on what they say.

I find the fire solved most problems. It follows logically that fire would fix the problem-makers also.
