Opinions on my song please

Could people please give me brutally honest opinions on this? I haven't recorded the full song, because there's a limit to the amount of time I'm allowed on my sound recorder (if anyone knows how to change this, or if anyone knows where I can record the full song online and be able to link to it or be able to add it to my website, please let me know).

The song is below. The lyrics (available at my blog: http://www.ketchupandcurry.blogspot.com - bottom post) and the whole song (I recorded the whole song on a cassette but as far as I'm aware you can't upload a cassette to a computer) have been copyrighted. If you don't believe me, I'd love to sue someone, especially in such a clear-cut case where I can prove I own copyright. Anyway here's the song (it looks like a blank webpage but the song should play in the background. Please don't click more than once, so my data transfer limit isn't used up): http://www.geocities.com/judokid2001uk/My-Song

Thanks.

I haven't listened to the song, but I can tell you about the other thing: Connect the cassette player to the Line In in your computer's sound card and use Audacity to record your song (you can also edit it a little bit) and then a wav to mp3 converter (there are hundreds) to make an mp3.

Copyright is nice and all, but you may want to look in the Creative Commons licensing scheme too.

You suck ass!

No, I'm kiddin' ... and I'm not listening to it, sorry.

Nothin' personal, but I get 50 kids a day with recordings of themselves on some craptastic Radio Shack tape recorded either tryin' to sound like 50 Cent or System of a Down and, well ... you know.

But hey ... good luck. *thumbs up*

Sweet, cheers. But as for the Creative Commons thing, does that mean people can use my song and pretend it's their own (I'm not saying they would want to but ya never know)?

Nah, wasn't trying to sound like anyone. Just wrote down what I was feeling and turned it into a song. Simple as. But fair enough :)

Not usually, no. I use it as a metaphor based on sound quality.

$150 will get you a Tascam USB-122. Most of what I get sounds like someone used headphones as a mic and recorded while watching TV in a parking garage.

No. There are variations on the license, depending how much control you want to retain of it, but in general you keep the credits and can decide wether other people can use it for their project, listen to it, or if they need to pay you in case they use it for something profitable.

Take a look at http://www.creativecommons.org they make a much better job at explaining it than me.
