For all you NSers of the old forum, this should give you a smile, if not a slight laugh. For all of you NSers of the new forum...well, this might be a waste of your time. Or maybe, for those of you inclined, the begining of a search for a forum.

A forum known formerly as forum seven. A forum now known as 1229.

Now, let's speak in terms of NS Forums. Not Jolt, but NS specifically. NS Forums begin at 1223, as you can see below. If you'd like to check, go ahead...none of the forums belonging to NS are lower then NationStates, which is 1223. Taking that into account, let's make 1223 #1. So, 1223 is #1. 1224 is #2. And so on.

There's a forum missing. A specific forum. Counting up from 1223 (seeing 1223 as 1, not zero, as it must be seen, since, if this were a seperate forum, it would be 1, there not ever being a forum 0), this forum would be Forum Seven. We can clearly see, there is a Forum 6 (1228), and a forum 8 (1230).

But no Forum Seven (1229).

So my question to the greater NationStates Community, be you an old member who knows the legacy of Forum 7, or a new member who is wondering just why I'm wasting their time...

There's a forum missing. A specific forum. Counting up from 1223 (seeing 1223 as 1, not zero, as it must be seen, since, if this were a seperate forum, it would be 1, there not ever being a forum 0), this forum would be Forum Seven. We can clearly see, there is a Forum 6 (1228), and a forum 8 (1230).

But no Forum Seven (1229).

Ah, but you are forgetting the vital piece of information: Forum Seven was not Forum 7. IIRC Forum Seven was actually Forum 13 or something. I believe Forum 7 still exists and is still used for the same purposes it always was.

The mystery of forum seven was created when someone went through the list (like I just did), and realized it went from forum=6 to forum=8, with no forum=7 anywhere to be found.

Yes... but it still appears unclear whether you are asking what happened to forum seven? or what happened to forum 7?

That wasn't forum 7, that was forum 13. It was given the name 'forum 7' but it was the 13th on the list of NS forums.

I seem to recall from some posts in the Moderation forum that "Forum 7" is accessible only to moderators, and serves as a place where the moderators can discuss concerns that come up in the course of their duties.

Edit: IIRC, This thread in Moderation (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=471407) was where I first noted that Forum Seven was the inter-Mod discussion forum

Holy hell, it's true-it's all TRUE!!! They're making forum 1229 (Formerly 7) out of posters!!!

"Forum Seven" was, of course, not forum 7 as already stated - it was forum 13.

Forum 7 is the secret mod forum, where they discuss their favourite porn sites and gather the funds necesary to hire hitmen to take out spammers.
