I went and watched that film awhile ago, wondering what everyone else thought of it.

I liked it, but Ralph Fienes is annoyingly British at times.
I think I gave it a 7/10 on imdb

I was confused and bored.
Great director. Great actors. Great book. Great film.

I thought it was decent, although the cover art on the DVD was a little misleading (I know, don't judge by the cover, blah-blah). You would think you were renting a fast-paced action movie. And then I remembered that it was a Ralph Fiennes movie...
Its not the type of movie I would normally watch, but I loved it.

I completely and utterly agree with you. And that guy was too British. I wanted him to die.
I haven't seen it but I know the plot: Isn't it something like "Gee whizz, gun running isn't great but it sure is better than what those evil western pharmaceutical chaps get up to".
The fact that the cast looks weak and the story so closely resembles the wet dream of a "political dissident" I'm not overly inclined to go out of my way to see it.

He was kickass! course I am British and I get sick of all the moronic american heros. except Jack Bauer and Chuck Norris. But Ralph Fiennes was great. Made me wish theyd cast him as james bond. The only problem I had with the film was the harsh camera work gave me a headache. It was worth it though cos it looked pretty.

The film demonizes the pharmaceuticals industry.
One memorable line: "The big pharms are up there with the arms dealers."

Some people have some demonizing coming to them...
I liked the movie myself. I thought it was well written, well directed, and the acting was strong.

Rachel Weisz, Ralph Fiennes, Danny Huston and Bill Nighy is a weak cast? What do you think a strong cast is?
Well, golly, none of those are American Hollywood celebs. Rubbish!
I really enjoyed it, it was entertaining and informative. Oh, and depressing. Yay. But then, the World is a depressing place, so there you go!

And gardening. I was so disappointed. I thought it was going to be be an action flick with Fiennes violently defending his allotment against voracious aphids.
Damn movie studios and their misleading movie posters!

Pharm TEST ON HUMANS (OceanNews © 2006)
THE drug that caused convulsions and organ failure in tests on humans also left monkeys with swollen glands.
Thomas Hanke, chief scientist with German manufacturers TeGenero, claimed the monkeys' symptoms were not the same as those suffered by men.
But the news contradicts the company's earlier claim that no adverse events had occurred in previous animal tests.
Hanke said: "We were asked if there were any drug-related side effects and this was not one of them. The temporary swollen glands were not unforeseen."
The disastrous medical testing has raised questions over safety and whether volunteers are told enough about the risks.
Two men are in a coma and four seriously ill after the trial last week.
