Oh, and liquor lubricates social interaction, leading to the lubrication of other things as well.

I drink when I'm in Italy, because there I am of age, however when I'm in the United States I generally follow the rules. It's only when I'm in clubs and what not that the rule is bended, and even then I'm just as happy with a rum and coke, minus the rum.

Legal drinking age in the US is 21. Everyone on NS is American. Some just pretend to come from other countries to be cool.

Yeah, that's right. It's too hard to imagine anybody foreign here.

Technically states can set their own drinking age and legal blood alcohol limit for driving, but they forfeit federal highway funds if they do so.

Yup, that sounds non-sensical enough to be something of the US.

My answer to the poll would be along the lines of "I don't drink that often, but when I do I get well and truly hammered"

i used to drink a lot at uni - beer at home every night at least (with copious amounts of pot of course), and used to go out to the pub or clubs and get hammered too. did that for two years (plus the occasional party of insane drunkenness before at college), but realised its not actually that much fun for me and a waste of time. i'm also something of a depressed/depressing/sad drunk, so not much fun for other people either. decided to pack it in and haven't drunk anything since last June/July or so :) (bar a beer at new year's)

And while I said a good amount I don't overdo it. But, when the occasion arises, I've been known to drink a couple of liters of beer :D

I get drunk maybe twice a month.

I pretend to be English cos chicks dig the accent. But if I was really english I'd probably just be sat at home with the heating on 24/7, waiting 2 goddamn weeks for my ebay package from the US.

Oh yeah I drink a lot as well, since I was about 16 or 17, couldnt get served before that. I dont drink so much now, as I seem to be dying, and hangovers last for days on end. I only really drink to take away the pain when im not getting laid.

So is aspirin in large enough doses. If you don't want to drink, don't drink. It's no skin off of my ass, but don't act like all drinkers are guzzling strychnine. Most people enjoy drinking at the apropriate times and don't suffer serious ill effects.

I've been known to have a cocktail or two, but I don't know the occaisions were all that "special" other than we didn't have to go anywhere and the kids were with the sitter.

I used to drink a lot when I was younger, I guess I kinda got over it, I haven't "gotten drunk" in at least 8 years.

even universities can't enforce their drinking rules, and they have the right to search my room at any time. Not to mention, even in boston which is pretty hardcore about it, I have no problem getting booze.

As much as possible. It was hard, being under 21 and not having a job. Now, I have a job, and a 21 year old who buys for me whenever. Can't wait for my first paycheck.

If you lived in England, why wouldn't you just buy from ebay.co.uk?

Anyway, yeah I drink quite a lot. Get really, really pissed maybe once in a month, get a fair bit drunk once or twice a week.

I'm young (20) so my body can still deal alright with it. And I've been (legally) drinking for two years (illegally for quite a bit longer), so I know what I like and what I don't like, which is always a good thing for enjoyable drinking.
