I think it's fair enough. It costs the airline more to carry them, and can mean an unpleasant flight for the poor person stuck next to them.

If nothing else, why not change it so that rather than a baggage weight limit you have a total weight limit, that includes the person as well as their luggage?

If you're excessively large to the point of encroaching on another's ability to sit comfortably, you should have to pay. Economy's cramped as it is.

You are paying to use a seat anyways. If you utilize two seats you should have to pay for them.

Airlines make money by putting a large number of people on a plane and it helps if those people were of "normal" size. I guess putting fatsos in a plane not designed for them - it cost the airlines money.
