Are you color blind?

I know I am. I see some tones of blue and green as the same color.

Here, take the test: http://www.toledo-bend.com/colorblind/Ishihara.html

What everyday things do you have trouble seeing Izzy? How bout traffic lights, neon lights, etc?

I think I'm red-blue colourblind, but it only provides red-green colourblindness test.

I must be otherblind. The one where you're supposed to see a 2 or a 5? I see an 8 :(

Yes I am. I always describe it (if I get the chance and the person I'm talking to isn't a total idiot) by pointing out that the bottom light of the stoplight is blue to me instead of green.

To those who aren't-why is it the first thing you do when you find out someone is colorblind is point to something and ask "What color is that?" You tell me, bitch, I'm colorblind, not a circus monkey. Do you go up to blind people and ask them how many fingers you're holding up? Challenge people in wheelchairs to a foot race? Ask deaf people if they can hear you? Dammit, get some sense.

I tend to have trouble distinguising the yellow colors.

And strangely, I have a really hard time making out bright gold and silver, especially in jewelry.

You get used in everyday life. I have trouble telling traffic lights at a distance, but can make it out as I get closer.

For dressing I don't stray too far from safe, neutral colors. Unfortunately makes for a somewhat boring wardrobe.

In games I sometimes have trouble telling enemy dots from friendly ones. :)

In a previous job, a boss gave me the assignment to copy only the stuff that was in red ink. I saw it all gray and couldn't do it.

What kind of a retarded question is that? I'd ask "What colours do you have difficulties seeing?".

That's a reasonable question, I never mind that.

Oh yeah, and no matter how clever the (metaphorical) you think you are, just keep in mind that you're (again, metaphorical-not anyone here or even specifically) like the thousandth person to pretend one color is something else.

And while I'm fuming, I know that it 'just occoured to you' but forgive us if our mind isn't blown by the 'how do we know that we see the same green' idea.

Green lights have a lot of blue in them, and they specifically made it that way because so many men are red-green colorblind.

I tried that too, and it seems like there aren't any red-blue colourblind tests, but I'm not all that concerned either. I see both red and blue just fine.

However, in darkness, I see blue much harder. For example, during Christmas when there are tons of lights set up, I will look and focus on the green, on the red, etc. very easily, and then turn to the blue and it's just a mess; if I squint as much as possible, it will look only a little blurry.

And then when teachers write on whiteboards (with markers), in the same way, I have trouble focusing on the red. The teacher writes with red marker, then with black marker, and I look at each, switching and being astounded how one is clear, and the other is just a mess.

That's where I got the idea of red-blue colourblindness, and I'm unsure whether it's founded properly.

I'm not colour-blind, but I'm colour-ignorant. I don't remember colours, can't tell what matches what, can can't even tell what colours are what. I had to tell someone what colour my old building was... I had on clue! someone told me it was blue, and I was like, blue? and it was!

I always fail the "numbers in dotted circles" test for some of the circles, but not all I'm supposed to have - in this case the left middle, left bottom, and right bottom.

Yet I always can tell the difference when I am shown what a colorblind person would see and what a non-colorblind person would see.

I usually do fine on all but one of them, where I see a different number.

The only real trouble with color I have is the bright yellows and silver. When I buy jewelry for my girlfriend I think is silver, she swears they're gold.

Bah.

yep, I'm color blind, known it for a few years now, just like my grandfather, so what. According to Paul Harvey's "The Rest of the Story" the man responsible for Crayola Crayon's colors was color blind as well. You call it "color blind" I call it "color interprative."

I did a lot of testing for colour blindness in the military and passed by recognizing flying colours.

I knew a friend who was colour blind and he even owned an old Black and White TV (didn’t seem to bother him much). He required extensive supervision if we were going anywhere were there with girls, because he dressed how the tones looked to him. Not surprisingly, not everyone can pull off bright purple and orange clothes worn together. But as long as he didn’t pick his own clothes to go out in he was fine.

You might be getting some interuption from all the colors showing both what a color blind peson could see and what a normal person could see. I don't know maybe you have one eye colorblind?

Don't feel bad, all of Japan thinks the bottom light (or the one on the left in Japan) is blue and not green. :p

Ask deaf people if they can hear you? Dammit, get some sense.
Sadly, yes, yes they do. Everytime I have to mention that I am deaf in one ear, many people proceed to give me an impromtu hearing test and ask if I can hear something.

They also do the "What color is this?" when I mention I'm color blind as well.
