Today is the 200th birthday of the first American (Greater America) president of full native blood ever elected. Benito Juárez didn't even speak Spanish before he was 12 years old, went on to study law, became governor of his state and then president of Mexico.
He spent his whole life fighting against tiranny, first against Santa Anna and later Maximilain and the French who wanted to establish a monarchy in Mexico.
