I recently switched to Mac without considering what I was doing. I cannot find a download of Civ 2 for Mac on the net. I can find at leats ten sites with PC downloads, but alas no for Mac

Has anyone designed a good MMOP with a Civ engine? Are there any massive world-building style games out there? What is an addict to do?

PS, have any mad scientists figured out why Civ is so addictive?

Sorry =/, I know Linux had a civ-like game, and of course Windows.. but Mac... dont think so.

My Advice: Buy a Windows box someone doesn't need anymore, wipe it of everything but the essentials, through in a vid card and Civ II/III.

You can get a thing that lets you run Windows on your Mac so you can play games. I don't know how functional it is, but it's not a reflex game you're playing so you should be cool.

I've seen something similar when working with my Linux box, I'll ring up my mate tommorow and ask for the program name.

I've never tried it, I just imagined 'frustrating' was a word I was going to use a lot, so I never used it. I've never had a big jones to play games on my computer, I'm a console guy for a lot of the same reasons I'm a Mac guy, I just want to put the game in, play for a bit, get a snack and go on with the rest of my day.

I dunno, I've formatted the box and I dunno which version I had installed, I know it came default though. It played alot like Civ I.

Here is your problem. Mac's are cool, don't get me wrong. But you have-H.A.V.E., to have a PC for games. That's just the way it is.

Well my boss managed to get XP to boot on his brand new macbook pro yesterday

Though he needs to hack him some display adapter drivers right now to get it working and game ready

Civ is addictive until you discover Sims 2.
