Is it just me or do we live in a screwed society? At my school kids are suspended just for saying "Im gonna kill you"!! Thats ridiculous. A couple of kids i know are getting expelled for "gang" activities just because they made a symbol for their group! Society is so afraid of what could happen and schools are afraid of being sued after something happens because of some frikin liberal lawyer :upyours: who questions everything. And now relegion is totally out of school. and our youthpastors cant come to school at lunch, they might "offend" some one!!! Its ridiculous. Your thoughts?

Indeed. Questioning things is bad, and borderline un-American behavior.

That sounds like a huge over reaction (aside from youth pastors at school, I'm guessing its a public school). I really don't view this as a "liberal" problem though. Liberal isn't synomonous with over reacting. It just sounds like school officials not having a back bone or knowing when a problem is actually a problem.

Questioning things in anything but un-american. The right to petition in the bill of rights as an example.
Yeah, no religion in public schools.
Yeah, you're not even allowed to say "God" unless immediately followed by "damn". :p

If you're not taking God's name in vain then all this liberal re-educating has failed.

(Pst...learn to recognize sarcasm)
On to the topic of this thread: whose fault do you think it is that the school is so overly paranoid about anything that could be violent? I'm guessing its the very pastors you're attempting to defend. Choose a side, please.

Sony acknowlages god in a way.
In the warrenty for the PSP it states that "This warrenty shall not apply if (Irrevelvant Jargon) The procuct is damaged by acts of god" You can look this up. Of course this could be their way of getting away with not repairing your PSP. "Your fat nephew was an act of god."

I choose not to act on it, unless it is overly blatant.
Sarcasm tends to rely on tone of voice as well.

I agree, s/he should send it to a true Master like me to repair it. :p
Makes me glad I'm out of high school so I don't have to deal with this stupidity.

It's just you.
Not everyone who pays taxes is willing to grant access to public property paid for by taxation for religious proslytizing.

Yeah this is ridiculous I agree. But it's exaggerating to say that it indicates a screwed society.
Also, no religion in schools please.

1: Yes, we live in a pretty screwy society. Since so many people are quite stupid, there's not much we can do about it at the moment.
2: Wow. When I went to elementary school, they didn't give a shit about things like that. Kids said crap like that all the time, and only one or two teachers ever thought anything of it (they actually almost lost their jobs because of that). Kids used to start groups and clubs with their own symbols and handshakes. It was no big deal.
3: Oh, so it's bad to question authority, now, is it? So I guess it was wrong of me to keep growing my hair in public school when the faculty threatened to expell me for it (which is VERY illegal)? Grow up.
4: Separation of church and state. Public schools are run by the state. Get the picture?
5: See #4.

It indicates a flawed administrative system within the school. In Fairfax County, Virginia you can be expeled for defending yourself. (Someone attacks you, you drop them)

Getting expelled for defending yourself... That's ridiculous. At the local high school, you're allowed to beat the living shit out of somebody if they hit you. You won't even get punished for it... If you have witnesses.

Is that really ridiculous? They threatened anothers life. On here you get reprimanded for just the same. Whats the difference with schools?
