What does "Arisk" mean? I think it might mean "Aryan", in which case I'll be trading in my Darkthrone CDs, but I want to make sure before I do so. Thank you for your time and attention.

I looked at the Darkthrone wiki page and found this charming bit of trivia:

I may be thoroughly patronized etc, but I think Transylvanian Hunger is no laughing matter. As a Romanian, I can tell you that hunger is a problem in certain parts of Transylvania: you'd best be carrying food with you, cause, if you get hungry, everything is overpriced.

It does mean Aryan. "Norsk Arisk Black Metal" is a very famous phrase due to Darkthrone.

Incidentily, I've heard that many of their lyrics from the period were written by none other than Varg "Count Grischnackh" Vikernes... a notorious neo-nazi.

One of the reasons that despite being a fan of black metal music, I've never bought anything by Darkthrone. Well, besides the fact that I hate their sound.

Subjective opinion :p In the end to me it is just music. I am not so emotionally affected by it, save by the very best of it.
