maybe it IS a communist conspiracy, and they are planning to take over the world. WE"RE ALL GOING TO DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH!
Mario has moustache, because uf he didn’t you wouldn’t be able to tell he has a nose, in the older games anyway.

I actually laughed when I saw this, does that make me a Nazi?
It's just for fun, dudes. I highly doubt people are taking this seriously. Anyone who does needs to whack themselves in the head with a can of potato soup.

Agreed. I actually knew someone who believed this. Let's just say they didn't have the largest mental capacity.

I hadn't.
Where do I begin? That was the greatest laugh I've had all day.
Ok, let's see...
Colour Scheme- Yes, red is the colour of Communism. It was also the colour of the Roman Empire, and of the American Republicans. Besides, not *everything* coloured red is necessarily a Communist depiction.
The People's Hero- They don't seem to realize that in the Super Mario Bros. 1 instruction manual that it says all the people in the kingdom were "magically transformed" by Koopa, and that the powerups were supposed to be the Mushroom people's gifts to Mario.
King Koopa- They missed the fact he's invading the Mushroom Kingdom, right?
Mario's Flag Switching- I'm assuming the peace flag is there as an offering of surrender. The star I'm iffy on- though remember, not *every* red star is Communist.
Mario's Family Resemblance- Shigeru Myamoto clearly stated the reasoning behind Mario's character scheme was due to the technology of the time. He HAD to design a plumber with overalls just so the people looking at him would know that he had arms, and he HAD to give him a moustache so that he could have a face. There's nothing "Josef Stalin"-like about Mario.
Now, if AethiaMUD.org really wanted to target a video game character who's at least slighly Communist, they could have gone after Lolo (www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lolo). In those games, Lolo has to defeat the King of Eggerland- his own king- who clearly oppresses his own people (in Lolo 3, he changed all of his subjects to stone). Now, it should be pointed out that one, in those stories, the reason for Lolo's adventures is because the King kidnapped the Princess- Lala- and two, Lolo is still the Prince. Still, the story's more Communist than the Mario series, since here it's about the overthrow of an oppressive monarch though it's not necessarily about turning it into a people's revolution. It should also be noted that the game didn't sell as well as the Mario games did (although I think they're great games- they're smart, challenging puzzle games).
Mario has overalls so that we know he's jumping. He also has a hat because hats are easier to draw than hair. Same thing with moustaches and mouths. As for the flags, the "peace" one is clearly a green skull. You just need to look closely enough.

Basically saying Yes sir, my leader. It's German. Mostly known as a saying said by Nazi soldiers, yes, but it has nothing to do with Nazis. Even the word Fuhrer was merely a term used for "leader."

No, it was a foolish assumption of mine. I tend to assume peeps on the internet are young. It's hard to lose that assumption even here, where people vary extremely.
