Local News LOL

Okay so there is this competition with the local news stations here to be "more live", and in the begining it was good, but as the competition rages on things get more and more stupid.

2 months ago there was a reporter "live on the scene" of a car jacking, well, that would have been fine except he was 4 hours late, and standing on a street corner.

1 month ago there was a robbery at a grocery store, and on another station, they were "live" but their reporter was in the empty parking lot of a completely different grocery store.

Just now, there was a story about the first couple in Oklahoma to win 1 million on the power ball (we just got it in January or something) and they lived out in Butler, Ok. The news anchor says "and here live reporting is <reporter's name>"
guess where he was...... down the street from the news station "live" in front of a gas station, about 110 miles away from Butler.........:headbang:

So, Smunkee's quandry......do I call the other news station and let them know ? I could be on T.V. and talk about how annoyed I am......(not that I want to be on T.V. but, it's a good story no?)

I could I suppose write into the local paper and rant about the idiots on the local news.......

What do you think?

*oh, and I forgot to mention that the gas station he was in front of, doesn't even sell lottery tickets. :p

Smunkee, my dear, speak to a competing station. Write as detailed an article or what have you as you can, submit it, and ask that it be reported. With luck, they'll even bring you on T.V.

And if they do, record it and put it on the internet. We all want to see Smunkee verbally kick some ass, I'm sure.

Maybe they think that if it works for the Daily Show it should work for them too.

At least you're doing only slightly better than the Wichita news stations....up there (or down there, from my perspective), "live on the scene" means anytime from 2 hours later to, um......30 years later, in the instance of the BTK case. Also, there was the time that they were at the scene of a hostage standoff and you could hear cops in the background saying that the news crew had to be at least two blocks away for their own safety, then all of a sudden you see the crew shooing the police force away from the cameras.....

It's a sick fucking world here in Kansas. Or, well....at least in Wichita. KC seems to have been spared from that particular madness....all our statiosn fight about is whose weather and traffic occur more frequently and with more accuracy.

I don't even watch the news anymore, I just listen to the AM dials, check out various news website and get my weather from the Weather Channel website.

Is "eat tacos" a euphemism?

I picked all of the options, not to be a douchebag, but because they're all good...especially tacos...mmm.
