the guy behind me in the checkout line today at the grocery store, he had like 2 things and I said "why don't you go ahead of me?" and he said "no" then he proceeded to sigh and make disgruntled noises the whole time they rang up my cart and a half of groceries, and then rolled his eyes at me when I pulled out my cupons. I just wanted to smack him.

good news though I saved $45 with cupons and $20 with in store savings so I got my stuff for under $250 so that was good. :D

Hmm. Actually, there's really no one whose ass I want to kick at this particular point in time. Perhaps later. :)

Self proclaimed aboriginal or Métis, who have just 'discovered their culture' and use their very thin tie to aboriginal people in order to speak on our behalf, and get away with being racist against us. Seriously. You don't know how much that enrages me.

it's for 2 weeks, 4 people, 2 of which are on an expensive diet.

box of waffles for me and hubby $1.50
box of waffles for the girls $3.99

loaf of bread for me and hubby $.99
loaf of bread for the girls $8.00

you get the idea....oh and the loaf of bread for them it's not the same size as a loaf of bread from the store, it's like the size of a loaf pan, so like half the size of the bread that we get, it has like 6 slices. :(

their animal crackers are $7.49 for a 6oz bag.

yep. Then there is the fact that I have to buy double of the community foods (like butter, jelly, peanut butter, mayo, ect.) because if even a crumb gets in it they can get sick, and that I have to go buy a new toaster for them since the one I was using got "glutened" by the babysitter. :( They have their own pasta spoons, cooking pans, everything.

you know it really would. ;) but it would take time to train the new ones, and that's something I don't have. In fact all the extra money at the grocery store is kinda worth having kids that sleep through the night 99% of the time LOL, couldn't get that for a while with a baby.

It's my fault, kinda. If I had more time I could make them bread at about $5.00 a loaf, but it takes forever since you have to make it from scratch, letting it rise, beating it down and all.

The stuff is cheaper online, but then you have to pay shipping, so it evens out to about the same, plus then you have to wait for it. :(

I don't mind the money spent so much, because it keeps them from getting sick, and believe me they get really sick, before my 2 year old got diagnosed she was in the hospital on a feeding tube weighing in at a big 11 pounds at a year old, she had dropped from 22 the month before. :( We almost lost her, so I have no problem with the extra $$ for animal crackers to make her childhood as normal as possible.

What I do mind is that every time they get invited anywhere with their friends it's a pizza party, they can't have pizza :(. At least my best friend understands how left out they feel having to always "brown bag" it when they go anywhere, and she is making sure that all the food served at VBS this year is gluten and lactose free (they have a friend who is lactose free) so everyone will get the same thing and nobody will feel left out. ;)

Oh my...I am so sorry they suffer with this. :( Of course you dont mind spending the money, thats what these retailers count on. They cannot make me believe it costs that much to make gluten free bread. I can see maybe $4 per loaf...maybe $5....but sheesh $8. They know people have to have it for dietary compliance and they take advantage. *growl*

Bless their hearts. Every child should be able to have pizza.:(

I'm looking up more on gluten, gluten-free diets and Coeliac disease.

If that's what they have, it sounds awful. If not, there are apparenty different knds of gluten and not all are bad.

But a toatlly gluten-free diet...*shudder* No beer. No wheat. No oats(because they tend to get contaminated with wheat gluten). The more I read, the crappier this sounds. :(

Iwant to kick Coeliac disease's ass. I also want to kick scientists' ass for not finding a freakin' cure. :(

yeah, and I bet you all thought I was crazy when I was talking about how to use leftovers in other meals in the recipe thred. I really have to do it. I can get chicken breast, and then chicken legs, and stuff for $10.00, or a whole chicken for less than $2.00, and then use it for 2 or 3 meals. Yeah, everything is planned out to use the most for what money I spend. ;) I bet the guy behind me wouldn't have been so mad if he had known that I really did need to use those $45 in coupons. Sunday afternoon is like an event for my 4 year old and I, we get to search for coupons that we can use and then on Wednesdays we look for stores that have those things on sale already so we can save more, or we look for who is doing double or triple coupons. She is my "grocery helper" I bought her saftey scissors and everything. We even map it out and figure out which stores are closest so that we can save gas. It's more than some kids learn in school I think. ;) hands on math and problem solving LOL:D

Thats an excellent idea. Reagan would love that.
I use left overs for future meals too. Mr Peechland says it amazes him the dishes I come up with using this and that. I'm not elaborate, I'm just creative. I get rave reviews from my little critics as do you I am sure:)

yep. they have celiac (that's how we spell it in the US). it does suck. There are a lot of people undiagnosed or misdiagnosed and suffering because of it, thinking they have crohns or ibs but all the while they are literally eating themselves to death. You can get malnourished on a typical American diet even if you are "eating healthy" when you have celiac, because as soon as the intestine gets damaged it quits absorbing food. I remember them asking me "what do you feed her in a typical day?"

breakfast - oatmeal, milk, fruit
lunch- tomato soup, crackers, grilled cheese
dinner- spaghetti and garlic bread

they said "other than the milk fruit, that's all got gluten in it"

I was so scared I wouldn't find anything to feed them. :( then I still feel guilty because I passed them the gene and I don't have it. :(

My bosses. I'm 10 weeks pregnant, and my boss is letting me go so now I cna't afford to have my baby and I have to move back to Ireland to live with my parents while my husband stays in the US and misses the birth and first 8 months of his first child's life. Totally screwed me...

Could be worse, he's kicking a post grad out with only a Masters after breaking his back to get a PhD for three years. Totally sucks for both of us.

And he had a huge grin on his face when he told us, I so wanted to smash his teeth in

Please do. Desperately searching for an employer who's nice enough to take on a pregnant girl for a couple of months. By the time I finish up here, I'll be six months pregnant. My only hope of finding something is to find something and start within the next six weeks, while it's comparatively easy for me to fit into my interview suit (bit tight around the waist, but I can't afford another one)
