Crack The Code

I Love Oranges

Well here we go fellow generalites, a little test for ye (and a little help for me). see if ye can crack the code:

OZGG HZ OCVO TJP CVOZ HZ, VIY TJP RDGG VYQVIXZ OJ OCZ IZSO MJPIY

All I can tell you is that the key, or the solution, is not just random letter substitutions. In other words, there is a simple pattern to the substitutions. Thus, you are certain of one letter, you could probably figure out the entire code without too much difficulty. If you are certain of two or more letters, you've actually broken the entire code (whether you realize it or not)

Well, I don't hate anyone... but if you insist...

:)

On the other hand, how will you KNOW if anyone has really cracked it and wants to advance to the next round, or if they are just parroting what the poster above them has said?

Ahem... I got it too... and I think I deserve points for finding a way to TELL you I got it in a post here without cluing everyone else in on what the solution is.

:)

But if you insist, I will TG it to you.

I V Stalin has to make round two as he was first, if he doesn't want to it passes on to the next person until someone will

prizes now go for those who can correctly identify how the code works to me (in telegram that is)

Was there any doubt in your mind from the wording of my post that I HADN'T got it? I used just about every word in the puzzle. OK, it MIGHT have been coincidence... but, c'mon.

Yeah, I'm off to the pub. I'll do it when I get back. And then I'm off to Manchester, so don't expect to be told if you're right until Saturday morning (GMT) at the earliest.

Actually, sod it, here's an easy one.

EIYBS RGEWW UA CWET XKIAW. BWCWE SXEWQ KWNNUFA. RGWT SI BIR KUJW UR. QGT.

TG a translation plus a valid reason please. I don't care about who gets it first, it's the best reason that gets it.

Is there a typo in this?

I get two typos...

SXEWQ KWNNUFA should be AXEWQ KWNNUFBA... although the question doesn't make much sense that way. The other possibility (with, of course, a slightly different translation key) is that it should be AXEWQ KWNNUWA, but that question would be rude.

In any case, my answer to the first would be "It interferes with their cliff diving" and to the second would be "are YOU a girl? If not, the answer is self evident."

Of course, it might be that I just can't make any sense of KWNNUFA.

Upper Botswavia
17-03-2006, 03:10
Yes.

You are agreeing with my assessment that I can't make sense of KWNNUFA?

Everything I try gives me either a misspelled word or nonsense. Is it some sort of slang that I am just missing? Help!

I believe there is indeed a typo in my code. I'm sorry. Upper Botswavia is right, and so is disqualified from the round for being a smart-ass, even though you clearly understood the key. (My round, my rules. Feel free to disqualify me when it's your round).
It should be AXEWQ KWNNUBFA.

Hey, the other guy took the good reason...or do you disagree with my reason? Lol. Anyway, let's see:

12/1482/121/2012/77131//10/4563/401//12111/98122/817//

Okay, this is a substitution code, but not of the typical kind.
The slashes are important, but not part of the code itself.

Are you guys using easier codes like slide, substitution, and Affine ciphers or something more challenging like Vignere ciphers?
