Oh man, i just been reprimanded for my internet usage at work.
Apparently I don't get paid to ebay, watch people maim themselves, and "play with stupid make-believe countries".
My excuse that the internet provides mental relaxation and visual stimulation fell on deaf ears.
Clearly being too stupid to learn from my warning i thought i'd tell you lot.
Anyone got similar stories?

my boss complains about my time spent on these forums. i just come here surrupticiously anyway - he has no way of checking.
it kinda helps i work for my parents though, hehe.

I tend to get away with it as long as I just mong on things like this and don't look at porn.

My roommate was fired for being on the internet at work, even though it was his first offence.

My teacher of IT at school does that, well the downloads part, i saw him set up a download on a friday and come back monday and burn the file to dvd... what a monkey!!

I'm part owner of the business here. Sometimes I wish someone would tell me to lay off the computer from time to time... too easy to hop around NS General for awhile.

Pissy then that I'm losing my job because the research group I work with are moving to Penn State. Me being three mths pregnant doesn't help matters when it comes to finding a new position...

I work for a University as well. They monitor everything here. They even prevent you from receiving email from certain providers, like aol. If you use the computer for something other than work, you will get caught.
