Best MMORPG?

What's the best MMORPG you've ever played? For me I played NS, Runescape, and now Matrix Online. So far I like The Matrix Online the best.

Shadowbane is my favorite of the ones I've played.

I've played Asheron's Call, Shadowbane, City of Heroes, and Star Wars Galaxies. Of them, the only one with interesting play and a good leveling system without awful grind was Shadowbane. If the population hadn't died with WoW and Guild Wars the game would still be good.

Right now I'm looking at RF Online.

You know I've heard bad things with SWG.

And none of them even begin to sum up how utterly awful it is. It's sad that a game with so much potential was such a terrible game.

- Near Constant Grind
- No actual stats, per se
- Huge ass maps, with next to no importance to 90% of the map
- No "Flow" at all, from the moment you start on
- Stupid classes
- The only game where dancing is more fun than combat
- A Star Wars game where jedi are next to impossible to play

Wow, sounds like the developer just made it up as they went along. I'm glad that MxO wasn't done this badly. You know, now that all the bugs are fixed, MxO isn't really as bad as a game as reviewers said it was.

It had a great deal of potential that got wasted because of bugs from what I hear. The same is true of Shadowbane.

I just went to look at the Galaxies homepage, and it looks like they've completely changed the game. It seems as if they realized how bad their design was and fixed the worst parts.

Yea what sucks is that after they fix all the bugs and re-vamp the game it's hard to get people to give the game a second look. I'm glad I waited a year or so to purchase MxO.

Guild Wars. Why? No monthly fees. I don't think any MMO with a monthly fee is worth that much money. With GW, you get what you pay for. With WoW, you get a good game, but you're paying for it every month. If I was paying every month, I'd want some spetacular shit. I'd want Jesus to pop his head out of the computer screen and fellate me.

ROFL! Ahh that was funny. Eh I guess it depends on what you consider a good payoff for paying for a server. For me, the community, the graphic, and the game itself is worth the game card I have to buy to play MxO.

Guild Wars became more of a shooter drawn large and less of an MMO (It just isn't Epic enough) somewhere along the line. It's a pity, because the business plan was smart, they just couldn't back it up with a good game. :(

Heres a funny WoW video. You have to push play, it doesn't start automatically.

I would have probably agreed with you had they not screwed with the balance and the marketplace so badly. That and not attempting to force everyone to abandon solo play that chose that route.

AdventureQuest (http://www.battleon.com/) actually turned that into a quest ;)

I was addicted to planetarion for a while, even though it was kind of crap and I wasn't much good at it. Kind of like NS general.

In fact, they both moved to jolt servers during my time on them..

I couldn't think of a better term. It shares many aspects with the shooter genre in terms of PvP style and goals. It's not really an MMO, so much as it melds MMO with a more arcadelike approach.

Things could have changed since the last time I played though, it was a long time ago.

It's not really an MMO, but it's mostly classified as one, so... ehh.

EQ2.

Almost as good as W.o.W, but far less crowded, and far, far less 13 yeard old idiots.

Ragnarok Online was good fun to start with. I've gotten a bit sick of it now, but it's definitely worth a look at if you're into that sort of thing.

Urban dead. A free zombie survival game. Its remaining major problem is that too few people have realised that it is actually more fun to play a zombie than a human, and so the living/undead ratio has been stuck at 65/35 for months. Will those puny breathers never learn?

Food aplenty indeed, but there is something a tad unsatisfying about eating their brains whilst knowing that they will rise again as humans within a day.

Did you eat me? Apparently my human fire dude just got eaten, and load of peolpe tried to save me, multiple flares were lauched, a dude said, "This zed is brain-dead. Get outta here when you can," the zombie lost grip after muching upon me, zombie grabbed me again, and then he ate my brains. Yay!

Unless your character was in the warehouse just north of Caiger Mall or the Armoury in Fort Perryn, no - I've made those my two primary hunting grounds for the past couple of weeks. Kudos to which ever of my undead brethern ate your brains though. Can I suggest that you give the zombie path a try for a while rather than just hanging out waiting for a revive and doing the Mrh-cow thing?

Nah, you didn't kill me then. I was in a firestation. I've been hobbling aimlessly through town these last few log-ins. I haven't found any fresh brains and I'm somewhat dissapointed that I can't open doors. Must ... feed ...

I actually meant the feeding groans, rather than the death rattle. The groans can only happen when there is a breather in front of a zombie, and so you're pretty much guaranteed something to bite if you follow them quickly enough.
