I know I havent been posting much lately but here is what I've been up to.

So the other day I am at the pet smart getting food, bedding, etc. for my mice
http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b220/DStudios1/P1280085.jpg
at the local petsmart, when I look into the mice area and see a poor emaciated (sp?) mouse in the little house they have for it. Its ear was cut, its fur all messed up, and spine sticking out a little.:( So i of course i must rescue this mouse and take her home.

Her name is snowflake

http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b220/DStudios1/P3130123.jpg

After we took her in (only about 2-3 days ago) shes gained much weight due to the vitamin water and food we got for her, and her coat is a lot more healthy as well.

Sorry just a little proud of myself .

So anyways Cute or Disgusting????? I think shes the best of the 3 yet.

Awww! :fluffle: Very cute indeed.
But why did the pet shop let it get in such a condition in the first place?

Maybe they were planning on feeding a snake with it.

they keep the feeder mice separate from the fancy mice or whatever they call them.

And you support this rodent apartheid by giving them money? For shame.

okay, I hate mice, and rodents in general, but she is rather cute, I like her markings, she is like a mini-puppy awww.....

no more mouse pics, if they keep being so cute, I might actually give in when my 2 year old asks for one again....seriously, no more before I lose my stance of "no mouse in my house" ;)

Aw, very cute indeed. Very pretty fur. :fluffle:

But why did the pet shop let it get in such a condition in the first place? I don't know how much the customer pays for a mouse, but wholesale for the pet shop they can't be more than a few cents per piece. They couldn't care less if one dies or not, and they're certainly not going to give any kind of "special care" to them.

Can you tell I don't like pet shops?

I want the moo cow mouse!

NO NO I NEED THE MOO COW MOUSE!

This is reminding me of that episode of the simpsons where homer discovers the mouse milking room the mob has.

Bwahahaha -- they're almost certainly there anyhow (no offense or bashing on your housekeeping -- they thrive between walls).

and how is that a bad thing? I thought Paris was already in some kind of an anarchist control already...or were the riots all planned by the government?

Cute yes, but why?

Don't get me wrong, I'm programmed that way, too. But consider: while this is cute,

This isn't.

Is it because of the fur? If mice were hairless, would we think of them differently?

HAH! Now there would be a situation.

I have a very morbid sense of humor. If you don't, stop reading now.

What if, in prison, to prevent the "apartheid" you mentioned, they put the Death Row inmates in with the regular prisoners, and then executed random prisoners from the combined stock to keep up with the scheduled executions?

Yeah, I find that concept hilarious, and that makes me a horrible person. At least I warned you.

It could have been the equivelent of the odd child with a weird voice,

(Though I know nothing about the social habits of mice, or if they they enjoy ganging up on particular mice)

I had mice while growing up, and unfortunately, yeah there is that tendency.

*Edit: I had lab mice. From a lab. Friend's dad worked at a pharmaceutical firm, we used to get dry ice from coolers in the corridors. And on one occasion, mice. I kept my mice for two, three years. In fact, when they both finally passed on my friend's father was amazed to hear they'd lived that long. He actually wanted 'em back, but we'd already buried 'em. Seems he gave me some that were already 'slated' to die... well, they sure showed Death a thing or two.

I'm still trying to work out how we can apply the classic Prisoners' Dilemma to mice.

PETA would be proud of your actions...at the same time they'd want to kill you for owning a pet...

But me; I think this action is worthy of the title "awesome", and deserving of a Bolol Nuclear Cookie Mk. III.
