The novel that is. I just finished it, and I thought it was part of a series.

If it is, could you tell me the next in the series?

And if not, could you suggest a Harry Turtledove series for me to read?

TGOTS is a single book, I'm afraid, excellent as it is. Now then, for the next Turtledove books, you have several options:

1. The Two Georges - Single Book - Alternate Future where the US is still part of the British Empire set in 2000

2. The Great War Quadrilogy - Great series of book set after the South wins the Civil War. Three Quadrilogies, moving from 1914-1945.

GOTS was a one shotter.

Like skinny said, you're probably thinking of "What Few Remain", which consists of a conflict between the US and the CS, UK, and Canada. It then goes into "The Great War" Series, "American Empire", etc. One of my favorite series.

Another good HT series is "World War" and "Colonization" which deals with an AH of an alien invasion during WWII.

Thats it! "What Few Remain - I couldn't remember the title. Yes, read that first - very important to read first.
